JDM Front Clip...

Fellow SVXers,
I found a JDM SVX Front Clip locally and I am planning on swinging by to see if I can buy some parts from it.

What do you guys think it's worth having from Japanese SVX that are different than USDM SVXes?

The only things I can think of are:
  • "Boxer" Cover above Throttle Body
  • Alcyone Hood Emblem

...and no, it's not a '97 so it has the "1980s Mercury style" waterfall grille just like mine. :(
...and no, front bumper is not one of the cool Cloud/KStaff ones, just plain OEM. :( :(

Keith, Doing a bit of research on your post history. Its amazing at how little you actually contribute to this forum...(thats being nice btw. It looks to me like you DON'T actually contribute... but I'm givin' ya the benefit of the doubt?)

Front clip JDM, well, here are some of the differences. Not necessarily what your interested in, but a start?

Many of the covers in the engine bay are written in Japanese..fuse box for instance. Perhaps others? If you dont want them, I suggest getting them anyways, and selling on here. Some one must want them for a good $

Headlights are plastic, but have 'city lights' built into the high beams housings. Can be removed and mix matched with USDM model headlights. Desirable? I dunno. But certainly different and non USDM.

clear corner lights

power folding Mirrors (remember the switch)

Power Button on Console (I'll buy if you dont want)

Central locking button on dash.

Good luck. Interested to know what a front clip JDM is doing there... Positive it actually IS JDM... or a stupid junkyard?

You have ALOT you need to yank out to get that keyless entry though... do your research on that one. IF its there.... I would be willing ot buy that off you too.

Re: JDM Front Clip...

Just don't expect to make "bank" on anything..... No one on here is really willing to pay for the minute and irrelevant differences the JDm cars had. The only exceptions in my mind being the folding mirrors (adds weight), alcyone tailbar, and clear corners.. Everything else... Meh

I have keyless entry.. Have had it on three of my SVX'i

Re: JDM Front Clip...

You are completely misinformed ;)

The USA Power mod needs a switch to turn on and off. The most OEM and best looking solution is the JDM Power switch mounted in the lower 'blank' of the auto shifter (not applicable for you of course). Run your ground through this switch, and it acts as a 'power' switch for the USDM cars. Very easy, and Very easy to make look GOOD.

And as far as keyless entry goes...You have had a little remote for all three cars. not JDM Keyless entry. JDM Keyless entry is COMPLETELY different. and very cool/useful I might add.

Lock your keys in your car? No problem, simply lift the door handle in 'morse code' fashion to your own set password, and your back in your car. No unsightly keypads. no silly coat hangers.

matter o fact, IF it has doors, I would pay you $200 for the applicable 'keyless entry' bits. If it has the keyless entry KEY with it, I'll pay you $350
