SUVs are gas hogs
And yet they turn them into high performance vehicles
But I have to say that MB has outdone itself... As if the 5.4L V8 wasnt big enough in the ML... the ML63 gets a 6.3L 510hp V8, 7 speed auto, and a o-60 of 5 seconds. Now wheres that new "hemi" Grand Cherokee SRT-8... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...L63backBIG.jpg |
They had to do something to make it faster than the Forester XT :p
|
I'll still take the Cherokee over the MB.
|
That thing is just HOT
I once drove that ML 63... in my dream :D |

In the last dream I had where I drove something, my SVX blew up. ): |
*Does hand-balancing motion* benz.....jeep....benz.....jeep....
Gimme 510hp :D |
Havn't driven the MBZ, but have some time in 1st and 2nd gen GCs and I'll take the MBZ hands down :D
|

Dude the 1st gen GCs are tanks. I should have bought my mom's :/ Now if I lived in some sunny place with perfect weather all the time sure I'd get the MB. But nice things just get trashed up here and I would just use it for winter anyways. In this case GC = win. |
Jeeps reputation with the GC is horrible. Most of the people I know that have owned them say they are trash. My aunt Vicki had a 2000 and she slapped vinyl lemons on the side of it and drove it around until the dealer bought it back.
|
That's unfortunate but the 93 my mom had had zero problems until the electrical started getting weird around 180k. Otherwise it ran like a champ and would kick my SVXs ass in the snow.
Then she sold it last year and got a GMC Sonoma with 34k on it and I kept telling her get anoher GC that this thing was crap, and the front bearings on the GMC crapped at 40k. Out of the family cars, 81 Cutlass (before my time), 86 Cutlass Supreme, 92 Isuzu pickup, 94ish Isuzu Trooper, 93 Grand Cherokee, 92 Mitsubishi Precis(mine), 88 XT6(mine), 92 SVX(mine), 91 Dodge Stealth(mine), 2001 Sonoma, and numerous motorcycles, the Jeep gave us the least problems. The 86 Cutlass is a close second, but the fuel lines burst or something some 9 years after owning it. |
Just another duplo block to make soccermoms feel more invincible on the road.

My sister has a '97 GC and is puting the repair shop owners kid through 8 years of private school, not to mention the fit and finish is like a yugo. Oh yeah, I have a personal beef with it too, ever notice that the top back corner of the front doors is further back than the lower part? Ouch, mofo jumped out and got me in the nose, oh, and I almost forgot, the wind noise is terible, and if the shocks wear out it bounces all over the place becoming unstble and difficult to controll. Hate the MBZ all you want, but chances are that it will kick the snot out of the GC both on road and off, just because you can't afford it dosn't make it bad.
Mercedes off road picture they have a little experience building off roaders... |
