Weird Transmission Problem

I had the transmission rebuilt about 800 miles ago and the Duty C Solenoid replaced as well with a new one. Now when I pull up to a red light and stop, in about 3 or 4 seconds, the transmission seems to catch up with the idle while I am in "drive". I can feel a very slight forward jerk in the car. My foot is on the brake so nothing happens. It just seems the transmission winds down several seconds after I stop. Any ideas on this one?? I don't know if this is serious enought to take my to my trans. shop.

not all automatic trannies are rebuilt successfully... you should recheck with the place where you did it and ask him about this noise...

It is not a noise. It's a "feel". You can actually feel the transmission slowing down after you stop and then the slight movement. I will take it back, but I thought if anyone has an idea what is causing this, it would help in what still needs to be done.

ok i got you, but when rebuilting either a tranny or an engine, you expect to get at least 95% of factory condition... small things like these, especially tranny thing should be well done! I guess yours is still under warranty? go to the guy and show him what is happeneing. now is instead of later...

That feeling is your transfer clutch letting go (binding). It's stuck on. Possibly the Duty C is sticking. Some people have used Limited Slip Additive to make it go away.

One person solved the problem by replacing a faulty TCU.
