Got CEL??
What are some proceders i can try to get a check engine light?? for example: smash throttle, go 80 mph, ect.
ive got some wierd problems but cant get a CEl, i need something to use my new obd2 reader on :D |
Wow..........

Hit something with a hammer. The MAF is pretty hit-able.
|
yeah the MAF is a good one and I've got one to sell you for after
|
only reason i ask is because i need whatever it is that is not working properly to send a CEL. when i used to work at the mazda dealer the techs would fix a car and mash the hell out of it to see if they can get the CEL to come back..... some reason my problems nearly go away when im on empty

If the CEL blinked at any point there may be a code stored. The light doesn't have to be on to indicate a stored code.

woah, you don't need to beat on a car just to get the light to come on... it just needs to be driven under certain rules.. mostly:
start with low tank of gas, let it get up to op temp, drive 5 miles at low speed, fill up, drive 5 miles at high speed, start car again after it cools down. every car has different rules that trigger th IM monitors... driving it like hell only hurts it though, doesn't help to trigger them and throw codes. |
my obd2 reader says there is no codes... its also showing that my ecu isnt scanning my cat converters, and my egr valve... i drove around for like 10 mins and it still hadnt took readings from those 2...
|
hmm, misfiring at accel. then it also misses at cruise when in 4th gear.... id like to try to get a CEL by driving in 4th but it shaks the car so viontly that im afraid something will really go bad!!:o

Sounds like a MAF to me if its almost stalling.
