well, an Infiniti G37xS coupe.

kind of a modern mashup of two of my favorite cars - an SVX and a 928. AWD like the SVX, the instrument pod moves with the steering wheel like the 928. not as good-looking as either, but not bad.

330hp, factory big brakes, sport suspension, sport seats, and lots of luxury and gadgets. i need a little luxury now that i'm getting older  added a powered subwoofer and blacked out the chrome around the grille.

Congratulations. IMHO, this is as close to a modern day SVX as you are going to get!

Been eyeballing those, too, lately. I hadn't noticed the similarity to the 928 till you pointed it out. Very true. Only, probably cheaper to drive, more reliable, more comfortable, faster...
Now keep it off the salty roads!

but still doesn't sound as good or nearly as cool-looking. :o reliability of the Japanese electronics over old German stuff helps ease the pain.

it has AWD - its getting snow tires. will be washing it a LOT in winter, though.

Congrats Alan. Do you still have the Evo X MR?

Wow - I know Evo X's hold their value really well, but that's crazy (or you got it at a steal 4 years ago). ;)

So what are your daily driver impressions of the G37 now that you've owned it for over 1 month? What kind of gas mileage are you averaging?

drives great, handles great. tranny works and feels different than the Evo (obviously). "Sport" mode is nothing like the "Sport" mode in the Evo, let alone the ridiculously fun "Super Sport" mode. :D works good, though - rev matches on downshifts and is smooth.

~18-20mpg, depending how i'm driving. mostly all city. 20 gallon tank is nice - seemed like the Evo always needed filling up.

main gripe is the Bose "Studio On Wheels" system, but i tweaked the iPod EQ and added a powered sub in a sealed enclosure, so that helps. i'll replace the Bose amp and speakers if i ever get bored someday, but its ok for now.

added a stainless axle-back exhaust - nice deeper sound without being too obnoxious. probably gained 60lbs in weight savings - stock rear muffler is huge and heavy!

I'm still thrilled like a kid on Christmas morning with mine. Serious performance while being completely livable as a daily driver. I'm officially the dad with the coolest car at my son's middle school.

I plan to hold onto mine for at least another 4-5 years...

I've never driven an Evo MR, but I'm not surprised the G37 sport mode cannot match the shifts on the MR.

There's no replacement for the deep growl of a nice axle-back exhaust system! It really improves the "sensory experience" of the daily commute. Which one did you get?

Some funny stuff on the Evo. Not safe for work.
