JGTC and I won't be there
 

For those of you who may be living inside of a sheltered world and don't know what JGTC, it is the ultimate in Japanese racing. Granted the US has Champ/Indy/Formula 1 racing. There is nothing better than JGTC.

JGTC(Japanese Grand Touring Championships) are coming to California for the initail tryout on US soil for the first time. This is where car design and automotive ingenuity share the same competitive space. Any car that you can fathom and is still in production will be there(only as long as it is Japanese). The Castrol Mugen NSX has been the big contender in the GT500 series while our own Cusco Advan Subaru is leading the forefront in the GT300 series.

A quick breakdown.

The GT500 series features heavy hitters such as the 350Z, Supra, and the infamous Skyline. The horsepower levels are higher than that of the GT300 series. The GT300 series features cars like the MR-S, Impreza, and Eclipse platforms.

I can only hope that the JGTC event here in the US will spawn more events per year than the only slated event to date.

I don't get to see many JGTC races on Speed, but when I see them listed I usually watch. It's fun stuff, and I was excited to hear about an event in the US.

I wish they had an event on the East Coast. I love watching JGTC racing on Speed! :cool:
