Removing window tint

I just purchased a 95 LSi...
The tint job on the windows is pretty bad...
Rear window is hard to see out of because of it....
(I like to know if the car behind me is a cop or not ;) ) With the current tint it's too hard to make out.

I am afraid of recking the defroster elements. What is the proper way for removing the tint so I don't ???

Thanks

I was forced to remove all my perfectly good tinting to pass a state inspection. I took the car to a professional tinting place. I had the same apprehensions about the de-fogger wire as you do.
The "professional" kid who removed it said, "Don't sweat what I'm about to do". He then picked a corner free, & just ripped that thing off in a split second. All wires stayed where they were.
Get some sleep.

Ron.

Here are a couple of pages. Both suggest a "sunny day," however. :D

Sunny Day in Milwaukee? Like that will ever happen...

Its been snowing for about 5 days straight. I love shoveling twice a day!

We had about 6 inches today and we are suppose to get 2-4 more by 6PM. And I get to work tonight. :(

the tintdude site talks about steam removal. I did that and it went very well.
