Driver Seat Belt Problem
This belt works on again, off again. Does anyone know where the sensors or seat belt control box is located, in order to repair the problem?
Thank you for any help. Bernadette |
I haven't done it myself but there are at least 2 recent threads on the subject. Try the search :)
I believe the control box is in the trunk area. |
my driver seatbelt doesnt go up unless I jiggle the key in the ignition.

I Have had this problem ( sort of ) sense I got her She still only has 66k & its the one wierd bug I kinda got around.
I am ok as long as I remember to open my door BEFORE I shut her off, it works. If I forgett & shut her down before I open my door its about 50/50 if she will let me out. I think of it as a little love thing where she just wants me to stay behind the wheel :p |

I solved this problem by lubricating the track w/ a teflon based lubricant (TriFlow). I'm sure a shot of WD-40 would do the trick as well (if resistance on the track is causing your problem like in my case) but may not last as long.
I believe that this works because your battery voltage w/ the car running is 13.1v or above, when you turn the car off it is between 12.1 - 13.1v. A small amount of resistance on the track may prevent the module from activating so as not to burn out the motor. This worked for me, it's worth a shot before you go testing body control modules. Good luck |
