Check out this paint job

You would only see this in Quebec. Even the windows are tinted to match the paint. Not my cup of tea!

That one's pretty much got me speechless... I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

The shame of it is he did a 1/2 way decent job on it. Finish and masking etc. too bad he Has no taste for color and design. Looks like he continued the theme into the interior.
Translation of his discrition : 1995 Subaru svx for sale or swap mags vault Khumo tires tinted blue and yellow alternator new Sold with another subaru svx 1992 for parts.
After closer inspection, I thought it was just a poor guality picture ) I notice som bad masking, if it shows in the picture it must be real bad up close . The rear spoiler paint effect is really special. I wonder what it looks like when you open the doors?

Looks better than most factory fade jobs I see these days on SVXi. "Its original paint only once" just goes so far.;)

To me it makes the car look short & squatty rather than long & low...

I like the blue but that specific color does seem slightly too bright for the SVX... the yellow is just ****. One color or the other and all would have been well.

I like how he painted all of the wheel arch trim and moldings. Nice touch. :barf:

I am happy to have purchased a silver one, I have to say I don't think I have ever seen a silver SVX with really awful paint. Red, black, emerald have not faired as well. ..and yeah that paint job is hideous. I would much rather drive around in faded glory then to drive that ugly Maaco thing.

Are we looking at the same pictures? My labradoodle could do a better masking job on a car.

I've noticed lately that the pearlies are starting to become faded and yellowed. The worst part is that the plastic pieces (bumpers, cladding) are yellowing at a different rate from the other sections of the car. This is the main reason that I repainted my SVX. My car was very well cared for and was always kept indoors, had all of its original paint, and this was still very evident on mine. It seems the later production white cars aren't as bad as the very early production ones. Pics of how mine originally looked before I had it painted:

It was pretty evident at Reading on the low mile Pealie with the original paint. Picture really don't show it too well. Didn't look that bad, but it was noticeable.

It seems that the quality of paint was definitely lesser on the 94 and up models after they figured out they weren't going to make any money on the car. It is most noticable on 94 and 95 L models by the clear coat peel that develops. As you said, the reds and emerald greens seem to be the worst with Laguna's being not too far behind. For 92's, ebony and claret seem to be the worst for deteriorating paint/clear coat.

I can't read what it says (my French isn't as good as it once was) but I'm going to guess that the car was taken down from the site. Anyone have pics of it?
