Came home to a bad suprise...

Well I came home from college to bring my girlfriend home and stopped by my house. I suppose my dad was holding it back from me... but the SVX was wrecked... The passenger side front fender was crushed around the wheel and the turn signal was broken. I havent driven it but my dad said its extremely hard to turn right...the other car (a Protege) was totaled on the spot. The airbags did not deploy so it might not be totaled... Ill post pics tonight. Anyway... do you think it would be worth it to buy the car back (how much is this normally?) and part it out? Other that this the car is in beautiful condition.

Thanks for your help.

Oh man... Everyone here's worst nightmare....

Truly sorry for your loss... :(

Look into getting it fixed first, no matter what the insurance says. We seem to have an abundance of parts cars around right now.... sad.... :(

That's a shame. I live in St. Louis to, right around the corner from Delmar street, I've only seen 2 Svx's in town, both of which were blue, I hope yours wasn't one of them.

I'm sorry to hear that! Bummer... :(

My SVX resides in Webster Groves at Elm and 44, and it is Bordeaux, so nope... not a blue one. Hopefully it isnt totaled.... I never got to give it a goodbye drive if it is. Next time Im in STL id love to see your X... actually I will be there the next two weekends if you want to show it off. If the insurance company totals it we will not fix it... it allready has slight problems with the tranny slipping.. which could just be the TPS... but who knows... anywho... I appreciate your guys support and will post pics tonight after i get off work, that way you will actually be able to see the damage.

There is a thread about Webster Groves Subaru...

There are now three pictures in my locker of the SVX, sorry for the shotty quality but I was really just dropping off my GF so my camera was at home (1 1/2hrs south) and had to use my phone. It was raining and I was really short on time so all I really know is what the pictures show. What do you guys think?

Thanks again!

PS - Other news... my Celica's 1.8 popped... got another 7A-FE engine for it with 19k for $1100 installed

These are very special cars. If you don't want to fix it, PLEASE allow someone else the opportunity. It does not look like a bad hit.

Yes, absolutely. If it runs, it's not a total loss.

You just answered your own question. They're not making any more of these! They are rare and, to some of us, much more valuable than their price reflects.

If we had the money, svxfiles and I would buy every SVX that was in danger of being "cannibalized" for parts. Every one that is parted out is one less that someone can enjoy and appreciate.

SSSVX 11-01-2004 07:54 PM

Yeah, it doesn't look that bad. You should fix the damage and keep her running..... :)

Thanks, green_eyed_lady :)

We are not far away like less than 1.5hrs away. Perhaps we could have a meet some times later. I'm located at closed to Morgantown. If you ever pass by, free feel to contact and have a meet.

Looks like you have alot SVXes... I only have one Teal LS-L. Quite good condition and low miles. Love her alot. :)

Btw, Loki, sorry abt your loss.

Guess where I bought it It only took 2.5k miles for the trans to start acting up. Right now I have it to a power light on startup don't know why including my dad who's a mechanic at Firestone in Arnold. I don't mind so much because I want to do a manual swap even thought thats not the point. but I bought the car there as I was a roomate to his(owner's) son.

thundering02 11-01-2004 08:45 PM

By the way FIX IT!!!! or we could talk some numbers namely a cheeeep car in a payment plan?
