Show Time

Phil

Thanks for info about turning up and paying and being directed to the stand -well, they could hardly not recognise an SVX, except out of envy, jealousy, or complete sloth.

Sorry I used those interior bits, but can I interest you in a nice pair of glass headlamps?!

Phil.

Well, Belha could drive it. No?

Yes, Plum could do the trip, but again, money is a problem. Plum is due an NCT [our version of the MOT] and to get that she would need a service, in particular replace some leaky seals at the front end. Other than that she is perfect.

However, she has no tax, and a year's tax on that size of an engine is €1347. So between the NCT and tax, she would cost the thick end of €2K to have road legal. And if I had that kind of cash to spare, I would sooner put it into Black Betty that I am keeping.

I'm hoping the problem with the gearbox on Black Betty is an easy fix, a problem with the wiring, rather than a worn or damaged box. But no way of knowing this till I get to run some tests on her, get some more information.

Bummer all right. :(

But then we'd argue over who gets to drive the SVX :p

The other thing I discovered from reading the forum is that exhibitors can buy a weekend pass even if not camping. A vast improvement over last year when we had to pay two days entry fee.

blueji 06-23-2005 06:29 AM

Hi Phil, the Phil Hill that is!

Dont think we've spoke before but I mentioned an interest in the JAE to Joe, I take it you seem to be the 'ring leader' for this event, so just to confirm that I will be attending the show as part of the stand if thats ok. I intend to camp but will be on my own (billy no mates) so if there are a others camping also could you please reserve me a couple o' square ft for my one man tent within the collective, my intention is Fri-Sun but Definately Sat-sun.
I have noticed through the comments reference to 'team effort' and making contributions, if there's anything I can do please ask and I'll see if I can help,...... I could bring Haggis, Whisky, short cake....the odd midge or two???

Cheers,
John

Thanks for the offer Graham, Might need to take you up on that. :)

Ian is dropping the car back to me this weekend on the trailer. [I am reluctant to drive it on the road with just 1st gear, might do more harm]

When I get to check it out, I am hoping it will prove to be a bad sensor or bad connector. If it's more serious, I may be in trouble. Won't know that till I have checked all the connections and earths are good, all the voltages the expected values.

Might be simple, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Will keep in touch.

Gazebo!

Phil H,

Is the Gazebo taken care of?

If not then my company has just bought two large "B&Q Garden Party Gazebos" for a barbeque they are hosting tomorrow night. They are 3m wide by 9m long by 2.7m high with side panels.

I'll make some enquiries about borrowing one of them. No promises yet though. Is the stand big enough for this gazebo and 10 SVXes?

Hi Phil,

No other offers of a Gazebo so far, Tony brought one last year. I'm sure we will be able to accomodate one with the number of vehicles we have planned. Claire said the space allocated is greater per car this year, so we should be ok.

I was thinking about whether we should display items of interest, contemporary articles or tests, magazine reviews, that sort of thing too. I have a couple of articles and an original sales brochure now, anybody else got anthing they are willing to display ??

Phil.

b3lha 06-30-2005 07:37 AM

Slight problem with the Gazebos.

We tried putting them together today for the company barbeque. One broke while being assembed, the other assembled fine and then blew upsidedown in the wind and broke. They really are of disgracefull quality.

If nobody has a better one then I'll see if there are enough unbroken parts to make one good from the two. I don't see it lasting the whole weekend though.

Call in anytime Norman. Paul in Japan has an MX5 over there also. SVX owners are kindred spirits to MX5 people I reckon.

Love to have a chat.

Joe

{Did I misread your post? Are you bringing the SVX? All SVX owners or enthusiasts are welcome. SVX cars, room will be found for them... :D

TonyShaleUK 07-11-2005 07:58 AM

I can no longer make it to the event!

Phil, can you pm me with your address so that I can get the banner to you. Also let me know if I owe you anything for my place on the stand.
