Have a quick question and need answer quick :)

Whats a stock TD04 Turbo (70,000 easy highway miles) along with the Up pipe and down pipe off a WRX worth?

I offered him 200.00 + shipping for all of it and I'm waiting to hear back.
The trubo on my XT is starting to puff smoke every now and then and I'm thinking of upgrading. I bought a stock turbo from a guy a couple weeks ago but still have not seen it.

Is 200.00 a fair price?

To late for a reply guys,

I bought it for that price. Both of us were ok on it so thats what matters I guess. TD04, up pipe and down pipe. Now I need to figure out how to install it on the XT

Sorry. Didn't see this post. That's a very fair price for that hardware. Btw, as you got an up-pipe - do you plan to install an intercooler?

Tcat55371 12-29-2005 11:44 AM

Innercooler

Yeah thats something else I need to find. I found a pretty good link over on USMB about doing the TD04 upgrade. Price seems fair to both of us and since I'm ok with it I guess thats a good thing. Couple of people said only 150.00 but I think this is a fair price.

Here is the link on USMB in case anyone is interested:http://www.ultimatesubaru.net/forum/...highlight=TD04

The Xt is my daily driver so I may not get to it until March when I loose my job. Will have time on my hands then and can use the SVX to job hunt. Most of the crappy winter weather will be over by then I hope.

Check the classifieds on NASIOC religiously over the next 2-3 weeks. You're bound to find several '02-'05 WRX intercoolers up for sale. You may also want to look at the long but narrow FXT/'06 WRX intercooler as it'll be able to fit in a tighter space.

P.S. Once you do the complete upgrade - engine management, engine management, engine management!!! ;)

I've been looking at pics of XT engine bay's and you should definitely have enough room behind the throttle body to mount an i/c:

Depending on what hood scoop you go with, both the regular WRX and FXT intercoolers should fit:

Good luck and update us on your progress... :)

Yeah

there is a couple pictures with an inner cooler in that link but it's mounted sideways on the XT. I'm not in a big hurry since I have to drive the car to work every day. Come March when I get let go I will have lots of time. :):)

The TD04 should also work well with the 1.8L flat four in the XT. I think it can flow around 360cfm which you probably won't need.

FYI, Megan Racing sells a cheap WRX Turbo-back that's compatible with the factory WRX turbos (TD04, VF-39, VF34, etc). Runs about $450 for a full mandrel bent stainless system. Not sure how things'll fit up on the XT, but you could at least get the downpipe (~150) and get an exhaust shop to fabricate the rest!

Good luck. Look forward to hearing about your progress in the Spring.

Well

I got the down pipe and up pipe with the TD04. I was told it will almost hookup to my exhaust. I know I need something better thou.
