best crank pulley options?

Where can get a get a crank pulley for cheap assuming that I need one? Dayle sells his for 140....and the one from subaru parts is about 148...anyone?

Get Dayle's as it will be the last one you'll ever need.

If you get OEM size you won't need belts.

n00b on demand 07-14-2006 12:33 PM

Is dayle's OEM size?

Earthworm 07-14-2006 12:51 PM

He has both OEM size and underdrive size.

on a bit of a side note...
i bought dayles oem size... installed it without a hitch, and recently noticed its wobbling... in fear of it being loose i tried tightening it as much as i could... however it didnt turn at all...
how would the aluminum one wobble?
seems to get smoother when i yank on the throttle cable a bit...
could the bolt have bent some how? or even the pulley?
doesnt make sense, but i cant worry 'bout it too much...

Earthworm 07-14-2006 01:12 PM

perhaps your crank bolt is cross-threaded?

92SVXLS-LDC 07-14-2006 01:15 PM

ook! that sounds bad..? as long as i'm not trashing belts or busting timing belt covers, i'd be okay though? right?? actually my timing belt cover already has a hole in it, from my first pulley that went crap..

Budfreak 07-14-2006 01:26 PM

I have the aluminum underdrive and it wobbles ever so slightly too. I wouldn't worry too much for as long as it's not contacting anything or hurting belts.

NikFu S. 07-14-2006 01:34 PM

My underdrive pulley has recently started wobbling for no apparent reason.

Earthworm 07-14-2006 01:35 PM

You guys are freaking me out. I'm going to go check mine after work! (or maybe even during lunch)

n00b on demand 07-14-2006 01:36 PM

So i guess i'll be going OEM size :D

92SVXLS-LDC 07-14-2006 01:37 PM

n00b on demand, mines oem size(aluminum) and i'm the one that started the wobbling pulley thing, at least in this thread...

maybe its just an aluminum thing, regardless of size?

ohhh ok i gotcha. Thats still weird that alot of you have a wobbling issue.

92SVXLS-LDC 07-14-2006 01:51 PM

i can guarantee the wobbling was worse before i got the aluminum pulley though, it shredded 2 belts in a day, and right through my t. belt cover...

I have the OEM-sized one-piece pulley and can't imagine how the part itself could fail, when properly installed. But I suppose stranger things have happened.
