Can we see this in production atleast....??

Subaru had already displayed alot of prototypes till now and while they never went into production.... they are tryin to screw up the current line up. But since this is a hybrid convertible concept and subaru isn't having a convertible, will this go into production in any near future....

While Subaru has anounced their R1e (plug-in electric) with very promising features, 125miles on a single charge and the battery charges to 90% in less than 5min and using magnesium halides rather than nickel which keeps the batteries costs low as well as many other advantages and the life expectancy is claimed to be anywhere aorund 90kmiles. I would like to see how well they will fare in hybrid market with such technology (hoping that they wont sell it to toyota  ).

I like it.

Full charge in less than 5min, ok, but during that time, is your electric meter spinning so fast, it's risking flying off? The concept is neat, but i'm a big fan of not being stranded somewhere. Can i bring a spare set of AA's in the event that i'm cutting it close on the 150mi mark, so i can at least get home?

I still like it. I'd buy one, if for nothing else, the daily commute. Looks comfortable, sporty, stylish.

Actually here is what they said, it charges from a 220V A/C (air conditioning) single phase outlet that they use in japan for lower consumption of energy on air conditioners... so, I dont think it will spin off ur energy meter.... :p

For others,
I am not sayin its beautiful, my point is can we see subaru making a new model in actual production while they are droppin their current line up one after the other and making room for toyota crap (Ooops... sorry :p ) like Baja, Outback Sedan, LGT wagon (I still couldnt beleive they stopped LGT wagon  ).

:) Becos its being screwed up by toyota madness. Nowadays its becoming more like any other common car on the road. For example, I used to easily identify any Subaru on the road easily by lookin at it from a distance enough to view the car. But now, its like I get confused about which car it is (mazda, hyundai, kia etc) untill I get very near to it so that I can see the logo. I cant understand whts their strategic plan, while every other car company either japanese or malaysian rim companies are getting better and better while Subaru is the only one doing something that seems to take it nowhere  .

actually in the past, toyota tried to screw up Alfa and came up with a very very ugly design, but luckily they broke up pretty quickly, thanks to Alfa for doing the right thing.

have to wait and see  .

Sorry, no. The B9 Scrambler concept was shown in 2003. Toyota purchased GM's 8.7% (hardly controlling) interest in Subaru in 2005.

Seriously, guys, this concept is now 4 years old. Like many concepts, it was used to test out their (at the time) new 'aviation-inspired' design direction. That direction has, for the most part, been abandoned in favor of something much more bland and Chrysler-like.

Yeh, yeh.... I was just j/k..... :) , even then I dont like Subaru being sacking down their product line up to make room for assembling toyotas which seems stupid, ofcourse sales of some models maybe not that good as others, tht doesnt mean you have to totally remove it and its always good to have tht option rather than terminating.
