While searching around google for pictures while pondering what other rally car can be best suited for Lord Vador:D I stumbled accross this car which I think is a concept car. There seems to be not much other information about it.

Also the reason why I say sort of is because it seems to have a little bit of Dodge Stealth and even some 2nd gen MR2 in it. Strange though considering this car from what little info I gathered is from 1991, and even though the 300zx is from 1989 one can wonder how far back the design specs went considering the project for the Subaru SVX started in 1984 if I recall.

Does anyone have more info on the Audi Quattro Spider?

In between Ferrari & lotus?

Yeah it does resemble a 300ZX but i'd have to see the back of that car to make a better judgement.

Wow, I like that a lot...
A 300ZX with the refinement of an Audi...

They should have made it, I would buy one

I agree. I definitely see elements of 300zx in the deisgn, but I'd also like to see some pics of the back...

Talk about no head room. I would have to keep the sunroof open even in the rain if I were driving the car.. :D

I want one

After some time searching I finally found a back pic. I guess I was somewhat right about having some MR2 in it. But its pretty much up to you to make the call.

And here is the complimentary front pic as well as a small collage that includes some interior shots.

As i said before, this car is in between the Ferrari and Lotus Esprit. no 300ZX in there...

I think an Australian reviewer said it best when he called the 4th generation Fairlady Z or 300zx is the bastard child from a relationship with a Porsche that went out with a Ferrari which gone wrong. :o

But you can also see some of the 300ZX cues when you look at the windows and sides contors. But you are right about the back, front and ecspecially the color looks Lotus.

If you take out the audi emblem from the back and tell you what car you think it is, what would you say? I guess the most logical thing is Lotus, and concerning the front end and especially the hood/headlights and grill area, i can feel the sense of Ferrari in it on a smaller scale.
Concerning the side windows, i dunno... maybe the 2004 Celica? a little bit?

Weebitob 08-17-2005 01:19 AM

Just take a look at these two pictures and tell me how you are not seeing it. :p

Aside from the window on the Quattro Spider being slanted inward and having a bit more backspace the shape has some major simalarities. Just take a look at how the black lining between the front and back part of the window.

now i got what you meant before, the rear window thingy... hehe you are right, my apologies :D :D

SilverSpear 08-17-2005 02:50 AM

Now where you think the engine is, in the front? or centrally positioned? I say on the center...

I found this short blurb on the Spyder (not spIder):
http://www.audi.co.za/vorsprung/concept/spyder.php
2.8 liter V6, mid engine, rwd, 174hp. They're light and handle well, but aren't exactly the fastest things in the world. I still think they're cool as hell, but I'd rather have one of these!
