My second and first since 08. Great meeting everyone, it was just to short, and I had even less time with my six year old son with me keeping me busy. Wish I had more time to chat with you folks. Danny and I enjoyed the cruise out to dinner and the company. He kept everyone on their toes with his questions and comments and with his crayons and paper. Thanks for the hospitality guys. Hope to see everyone again next year.;) Conn thanks for being part of our ride down and splitting the room with us. ;)

Larry, I'm sorry we missed you all. We actually stayed at another hotel. I was there on Saturday evening and again mid-day Sunday, but I missed a lot of people I'd looked forward to seeing. Did catch up with Marisa, Henry, Ron and Nate, so all was not lost. Hope to see you all next year!!

Great time at the meet – as usual! It’s the PEOPLE not the cars, but the car brings us together. Just really great to see old friends and make some new ones and to even see SVXi I’ve not seen before.......

Congrats to HUCK for winning the “Competition Award” this year for all he has done to promote the SVX and its potential performance. Especially the FIRST to convert the SVX to a manual 5-speed ..... well done, HUCK! And excellent choice, Tom!!

And congrats to Dennis for having the MOST pristine SVX there with his ‘97 Polo with ONLY 16K miles on it!! What a gorgeous car!!!

And kudos to all of us that braved to cold and STILL had a good time!! Looking forward to next year already!

And thanks to Dennis (actually his wonderful wife) for the sandwiches and goodies and of course Rosie and Larry with their load of Italian pastries!

PS: I have sent this along to all those that "registered" and provided me with their email address - if you did not receive it, message me with your email address so I can get you on the list!

I am glad to hear everyone had a great time (at least the ones that replied here). My thoughts were with you all at the meet. I know how fun the meet is and I will make it again. :)

I had a great time, was good seeing every one I already knew, and meeting some new faces...I was Humbled to receive the award from Ol' Tom, I'm very glad that anything I've done has helped out the SVX community in some way.
I too wish it could have been longer...(and warmer...and a shorter drive!)

My vote is to bump it at least a month to get it into warmer weather (and maybe move it to the Smokies :) )

We had almost as many cars as last year, and pretty much all were very nice examples.....only (2) 5-speed attended.... no forced induction of any kind....Dave should have brought his grill :D (Will get to use it at the Dragon Meet anyway :) )

It was great to meet everyone and finally put faces and cars to names at my first Reading. You guys are a great group of people and it won't be my last Reading trip. I should be back in an SVX after graduation in a few years when I can do it properly

Glad to be back after a two year hiatus and to meet up with old friends and a few new ones . Had a great time and the return journey to NE Ohio was uneventful . The '92 LS ran like a charm all day :)

Looking forward to next year already !

Re: Reading 16. I don't know about you...

The sentiments expressed seem to reflect those of the original Reading in spirit.

Newer members signed up and became excited to meet other members that they have come to know through the forums. They could finally put faces to the names and cars. Older members return to reconnect with those they have come to know and love over many, many years. Catching up, swapping stories, amd making new memories never gets old.

This Reading was much more about the people than what was being offered in the way of activities or events. While there was anticipation, there were few expectations and therefore it was very hard to be disappointed. Seems like everyone really enjoyed themselves thoroughly, despite the fact that there were no activities planned.

No formal tech sessions,
No scenic drives
No points of interest
No autocross
No rallies
No scavenger hunt
No raffle
No parts for sale/swap
No planned group dinner
No Concours

No one seemed bored or disappointed. The only concern expressed was the coolness of the weather that prevented members from being outside late into the evening. Some talk of possibly moving the meet into May (second weekend... after Mother's day). Warmer weather definitely.

It's always nice to hear from those who tell us what they liked and ways to improve it while maintaining that enthusiasm that created Reading in the first place.

Mike Davis, in his signature on the network, always said "Reading is my favorite holiday"

But his comment on Facebook this April, about why he did not show up at Reading, was "It used to be different, and *I* used to be different."

I hope that this was a temporary decision on his part and one that will not become contagious .Reading is different every year, not because of what is planned, but because of the enthusiasm of the people and what occurs spontaneously.

I'll be there next year. I should not have missed this one.
