Subaru Subwoofer?

Does anyone have experience with the Subaru Subwoofer? How does it sound and would it work with the SVX stock system?

Thanks,

Matt

I would love to know the answer to this one as well. :)

wife has it in the WRX - i'm not real impressed, but then again she's no audiophile.:) the car already had it and the upgraded speaker package - i told the salesman i didn't even want these options and beat him up on the price some more, so they were basically free.
its not a very good sub at all - if you're looking for something small and stealth, i think Clarion? makes a similar-sized powered sub that can be stashed under a seat. i'm sure this unit is much better than the Subie one. even a 6-inch powered Bazooka tube wouldn't take up much room in the trunk.

I believe it is clarion that makes the "Subaru" one too. :)

If possible, take a look and compare the Clarion-branded ones with the Subaru one. Many manufacturers will make whatever crap someone asks them to, especially if the manufacturer's name won't be on it.

If Clarion built it to Subaru specs (probably low cost was priority #1), it could be very different from one that Clarion has its reputation riding on.

I must promote clarion products, i have listen to their amps, best i have seen for the $, and i have a HU worth $960 that is a Clarion MD/CD player. The sound quality of their products is great!!

Subaru audio components used to be made by Panasonic. Has that now changed to Clarion?

i have a kicker solo baric L7 12" sub that blows most things away. i got it cheap it fits and sound good. i had to get some of that sound cloth for the area right under the trunk lid but overall i spend less than 600 for everything.

Green1995SVX 12-03-2002 11:29 PM

<looks under the seat> I dont think that 12 will fit!! ;) I need my trunk space. :p

ya i know but i wanted something that people could hear. and i still have like a third of the trunk to use and if there isnt anyone in the back seat i can pull the seat down and pull the box foreward

I prefer to keep my music to myself. I do this, also, for the sake of others. There is nothing worse than sitting in traffic and hearing someone elses god-awful "music" over what I'm listening to.

im with you so i turn it down when i am driving in town. but one of the only things that there is to do in my town is drive on the main street and show your car off to the thousands of other ricers that are there. at that point i like to draw attention to me. which the svx does on its own nicely. nothing like pulling up to a civic or accord that thinks they are tough and beating them then blowing there system out of there car. but i respect others when i am around people that dont like to do it.

im glad you feel like you can rag on everybody that doesnt have the same ideals as you. that shows a very closed mind. its fine with me that you want to think that but it would be better for the rest of us if you kept it too your self. ill be waiting to hear your next response that shows how mature you really are.
