I Bought a Website!
 

Hey SVXers,

Just thought I would let everyone know I resisted the temptation to buy another SVX and instead invested in a website. It's a website where people can play hangman, so if anyone here likes to play hangman go check it out! I believe it is even rated number 1 or 2 if you search for hangman in google.

PS if you can't tell, I'm pretty excited about the purchase, even though it isn't an SVX :rolleyes: Maybe someday I will have the time and resources to care for 2 babies though... I can dream anyway.

Well let's just say it was less than $5000... (but not by much)

For the previous owner it was making somewhere in the $420/month range, and so far it seems making right around that much for me as well.

Yeah Freeman is right, it's targeted ads through google... I had to sign up for a Google adsense account.

Very well targeted I'd say. I had typed Netflix and not shortly after I visited your site, sure enough there was a Netflix ad on the bottom ad. Impressive.


Do you plan to mess with the layout at all or add forums or something to it? Maybe get rid of the 1996 "AQUA" background websites no longer use?

Haha I had thought about changing that background... I guess forums would be a possibility too eventually. I will probably see how it performs in its current state for a little while so I have a baseline to compare performance to after any editing I do. Then perhaps I could see how any changes I make affect the site on a one-by-one basis and try to optimize it in that manner.

Yeah that's a smart idea. Some people like change and done people are terrified by it.
