6th Anniversary of Site
 

Did anyone notice that the 6th anniversary of the site passed by on the 15th of this month? Am I on crack and I missed a post about this or do I have the wrong date/month?

What is the real date?

I can never figure out what is the real start date of the Network.

When everyone conversed on Yahoo!, I hated with a vengeance the pop-up ads and rubbish they imposed, as I had a treacle-slow dial-up connection at the time.

I'm sure I was one of the first half dozen to start using the Network, and if memory serves that was sometime in February 2001.

However, something happened that caused a transfer of data to another server, and the early accounts were lost. As I said, I was one of at least the first 10 to abandon Yahoo! and use the Network, but my membership number does not reflect this, I think I am listed as member One Hundred and something.

So is there an official Network start-up date?

I was just talking to Chris about it and of course, I forgot the official date. I will find out and post it here. :D

How do you find out which member # you are? I've never seen this listed. :confused:

Yahoo decided to change the Club format to a Group format at the end of February 2002. Our Yahoo SVX Club had more than 1700 posts in February and that fell to just over 400 in March of 2002. With the less-than-friendly user format of Yahoo, this group got underway a few weeks later. And now you know....the rest of the story......(but I'm not Paul Harvey).

This method only works for me if I use IE.

As my normal browser is Mozilla Firefox, it does not show. What I have to do with Firefox is right click on the avatar and select properties, full page.

Then I can see it. I'm number 66 apparently. I like it:D

It does not however reflect my original joining of the Network, which was at least two weeks earlier.

Aredubjay and I joined the SVXWN on the same day, February 21, 2001 He was the 3rd member to join and I was the 4th.

However, if you use this method above, it shows Aredub as the 4th member and me as the 5th.

It seems the numbers are off by one. Chris is #1, #2 is unknown, Aredub is #3 and I am #4

im number 6 :) ..... how do you find the date you joined? im assuming it was the same day, but after school of course (wish i was still in school!!)... And by the looks of it its my golden birfday....what do i get???!?!!?!

By changing the number in the address bar I got these...
1 = SVXadmin

3 = Invalid User??
4 = Aredub
5 = SVXcess
