What's the point of Blue Book?
How much good is the blue book? (Kelley, NADA, etc.) It's been my experience from buying 4 SVXi in two years (along with several other cars), and reading about others' buying experiences here seems to indicate that SVXi rarely trade hands for "book value". So what good is the book if it doesn't accurately reflect the reality of the market? Is it just a tool for dealers to use for their advantage?

the problem with the blue book is the older the car is the less accurate it is sence the numbers are based off of figures collected from dealership auctions... so if a car is rare or not passing though alot of auctions then the price may not be the cars actual value but it is at least a good guide as a starting point... you know so you dont think your car is worth 10,000 when it is really worth 100

If you want a slightly better representation, go to edmunds.com, they seem to be more accurate - but yea, as they said above, a rare, older car like the SVX is going to skew very different
