Lost my faith
I lost my faith in the SVX World Network today.. One of our own got ripped off by one of are own members. I thought we were a brother hood of sorts. A Net Work ,a family that stuck by each other .When a member sells something to another member and misrepresents it ,that is pretty low. I don't want to mention names, some of you can figure it out if you read the posts. The guy that got shafted didn't deserve it. Questions were asked on this forum and were answered on the forum. and the Car was misrepresented . I think the person who is in the, wrong here should stand up to it and do what is right to correct the issue. Bang (that's me jumping off my Soap Box.) I am done now . Any comments....?

Re: Lost my faith
You've heard both sides of the story before reaching this conclusion, right? Just wondering.

Re: Lost my faith
You should not lose your faith in the Network, but in a member of the network. The Network did not do this, but the member did it (if they did wrong). The Network is the place that all of the members have a chance to exchange thought, give help, sell items and the rest of what we do here. A couple of years ago I lost money on some major parts. The member did not send the parts, but just dissapeared, never to be seen again, and I know that he will never be back. I lost faith in him, not in the network. Just my thought. :o

I have 3 SVX's and they, of course, are all different. One has about 200,000 miles on it and the other two are lo-mileage and fantastic. The 200,000 one had a seeping head gasket on it that was only a problem when the weather was hot. Weather cool, everything was fine. Weather hot, the coolant would push out and run over the reservoir. Many people said I should sell it in the cool months! My reply was always the same... I would never sell that car in that condition to even a total stranger. The old "there is a sucker born every day" would have made it easy. I kept the car, and after a couple of years, I made the decision to get a LO-mileage engine from Japan and have it installed. I kept it from going to "SVX heaven" and am proud of the fact that I treat people, in every incident, in a way that brings me much more happiness that a few bucks that I could get by taking someone's hard earned money and leaving them "high and dry"! The car now runs great! That is just me... Like I said on the other thread apparently about the same subject... That Stinks! Keith:cool: |
Re: Lost my faith
The only thing that has ever surprised me on this form is the people that will diligently support the "Screwer" as opposed to the Screwed. To me it shows how many and exactly who would gladly do the same thing if they had the chance. Ethics all fly out the window... On second thought, maybe not, maybe there weren't any there to start with.

Yes, I've had fuel pump issues in the past with the SVX... specifically on my 94 and my first 96. These things happen. Remember that the SVX was made in an era where we didn't have a lot of the crap in the fuel that we have today; ethanol, detergents and so on. These pumps do occasionally get stopped up with crud, or the seals get eaten alive by the detergents... or those same seals dry up and shrink because of the ethanol. They're old cars, engineered in a different country and a different era. So yeah... sorry if I've misunderstood the situation... I don't usually go through old threads to find it, but if the fuel pump is all that's wrong then just replace it and drive happy. |

The problem is a little more complex than a fuel pump, the 30amp fuse in the wiring to the fuel pump continues to blow almost immediately after the car starts. There are other threads, one from the Previous owner, one from the new owner detailing this. |

Of course, it could generally be bad grounding in the entire car. You'd really have to test the wiring to find out. Just because it's the pump fuse that blows, doesn't follow that the problem is necessarily the pump. |
Re: Lost my faith
New pump was installed and problem still exist. Could a new 30 amp protected wire be run to the pump? Could we have bought a bad pump? How do you check the wires ?
