Speaker/Amp Upgrade

I have an Amp/Sub box that I want to put in the trunk. Blacknite has his signal line to power up the amp running to the front of the car. Has anyone figured a way to turn it on from the back, where a line doesn't have to go up to the stereo?

If you run with your lights on all the time put it to one of your pariking lights. :o

Get an aftermarket stereo?

Oh... Wasn't clear.

Not power, I have a line already for that.
I mean the "signal" line that tells the Amp to power up. :)

Works the same way...think of how a relay works.

An aftermarket stereo will have this output as I'm sure you already know.

Yeah thats what I was talking about something that is 12 volts....Taillights are something I've seen those wired to as they are keyed so you don't leave your amp on 24/7. (And if you need to be quiet turn your lights off. :p )

Well if you really just don't want to mess with running a remote turn on wire to the head, you could always splice off the power antenna in the trunk. There are also switches that basically "listen" for audio and provide a turn on signal whenever they hear it.

And steping on the brakes makes it 2x louder! :p

Switches that listen? Now that sounds good, since it's to run a sub only! :)

I don't know if I'd bother with Ebay for this. http://www.sjgreatdeals.com/pactr4.html
The link is just for reference, I've never ordered from them, but I'm sure you can find a local shop who sells one of these.
