Saddening Anniversary today...
 

A year ago today, my father passed suddenly and unexpectedly, at the very young age of 55. It's still all very surreal to me, has it been a year already?:(

I do not intend to bring everyone else down today, this just helps me deal with it a bit more easily. He was a Retired Marine Major and Pilot after serving 20 years, he then moved on to engineering. He earned much respect from his co-workers and employers. So much, that to this day, their website carries their thoughts of him.

Half of his ashes are at the National Cemetery on Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. The remainder of his ashes are being spread across Pensacola Bay this afternoon.

Chris, after reading the remembrances at the website I'd say you were a lucky man to call him Dad. Although his time may have been short, it was very intense to leave so many with such fond memories. Thanks for sharing, and you and your family take solace in knowing how special Handy Randy was.

My thoughts are with you - 55 is entirely too young for anyone to die. I know you treasure the memories. You were lucky to have him as your dad!:)

He seemed to be a great person and no doubt a special dad. The website is a great reminder and a fine tribute to him.

Wow what a man you got to call DAD! After all the crap with the stuff at VT today this put me over the edge! Yeah it was amazing! (Still wiping tears off my laptop and kids asking whats WRONG with me! )
