So...which brake pads do I use?

So, which brake pads do I tell the guy to use? Remember they probably don't know anything about an SVX and I don't want to drop my car off and find out at the end of the day that they have to be special ordered or something...are they the same as a legacy?

use the OEM svx brake pad KIT. it includes pads and special 'shims' to keep them from squeeling. I had my local mechanic order them thru the subaru dealer. No squeeking, great performance, and little dust. The only way to go.

Well, my brake pads are about toast. I think I'm going to just have to get them done tomorrow with whatever they got. Next time though I'll go through the dealership though. Should any brake shop have pads to fit?

Well, they can get whatever generic brand they use... But, ive heard bad storys about the non-OE pads squeeling like a hurt pig. I would really see if they can get OE.

Well, the pads on them now squeel but that's probably because they are about gone :D What I mean though is that should they already have the pads there in the shop without having to order? This needs to be done really soon...

They probably wont have them in stock, but most shops can order stuff and have them in the same day. You never know though... if its one of those quickie places that only does brakes and stuff, they might.
