My PS unit is working at about 98% now after O-ring and fluid change!

But why do I get a 5 to 10 sec squeal when starting up after long park.. . :confused:

Thats the only time! Never squeals any other time.. turning sharp.. or ?? Belt is tight.. . Hmmm? :eek:

Maybe the belt is old and slick and it softens up when it gets warm? I'd change the belt if it bothers you.

It was an old.. NEW belt! [2 to 5 yo in my parts box.. Is dat a prob?] Ha!

Think it was a cheaper ($10) belt .. as opposed to a luxury option belt @ $16+ >> Afraid to tighten TOO much.. just guessing.. but very tight!

Doesn't bother me too much .. cuz SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE O-RING/FLUID SWAP! But Yes.. A little embarrasing to turn heads repeatedly.. Ha! :lol:

Try a different (old?) belt. Some belts do not make proper contact with the pulley. Sometimes the grooves are not deep enough in the belt. I've seen it once before.

Ya know.. I just worked on my SVX yesterday.. to flush coolant. I noticed a clicking (instead of squealing) when running engine to heat/flush coolant. I put stop-squeek on the AC belt (which looked a little loose) .. and it stopped the clicking sound!

Hoping it's that belt! Will know today after work.. about 90 degrees here. I think the heat of sitting in high temps causes the AC to stress at first when starting up??? causing that belt to slip??? :confused:

I'll know at 8 pm tonight when I get off. :cool:

Yep! Dat was it! NO MORE SQUEALING! Hmmm? I was blaming the wrong belt! :rolleyes:
