as a sport luxury car, its more luxury than sport from what i've read from owners.

its a nice-looking car, though. not sure what mods are available for it, but it would be interesting to know what common upgrades there are.

the "AWD" on it is kinda weak, and i need it to work well - i'm in a hilly area that gets SNOW.

edit: i just looked at the "Evolve" Volvo performance site, and their performance package (flash, uppipe, downpipe) is $3000. :yikes: the equivalent on the LGT is less than half of that price.

Yeah, I heard about its awd too. But, it does have stability control and traction control. One thing that kinda worries me is that I heard it has a large turning radius. Living in milwaukee, you need a car with a tight turning radius like the svx. But idk, I dont really mind doing 3-point turnabouts. I really like the fact that this car is rare, like the svx. I did some research and found out there are several other aftermarket tuners for this car besides evolve. Theres ipd, svenske racing, and couple others I cant seem to remember. Has anyone here driven one? I hear the 4C chassis on this car is pretty cool. You could adjust it from comfort to sport to advanced sport. And, theres the safety that comes with volvo. We all know theres an abundance of terrible drivers that share the road with us all on a daily basis and having a car thats built for safety is a big plus in my book.

Next car to buy on my list : Volvo S60R

That's pretty nice, I've never heard of it.

have you checked out the Mazdaspeed 6? also an AWD sedan, but with a 274hp turbo I-4. also a nice-looking car, but it may have some heat issues, if i remember right. something about the intercooler not getting enough air? there may be an aftermarket fix by now - i dunno.

there's always the LGT, too, but its not very rare, and looks like a Camry. :D

just my 2 cents from a young person's perspective;

of all the cool, sexy, fast, affordable, reliable, and useful cars out there, WHY in god's name would you buy a Volvo?!?! They're about as pedestrian as you can get

nonSTOP_service 07-30-2007 09:18 AM

Well I can tell you a thing about Volvos. They are as reliable as the sun. I had a Volvo once. I was driving in New York and crashed it into a tree. Then drove it down some stairs. Then through a shallow pond. Then dumped half a tank of diesel into it. Then it overheated cause I broke the radiator cap.

After that we figured it was enough so we drove it to Denver. :D

You know its funny u should say that, my cousins were saying the same thing when I was looking to buy the SVX lol. I like the S60, its a nice looking, reasonably fast, rare, and safe car. Its got AWD, although not on the same level as subaru's, but its awd.

I don't consider anything I can currently walk into a dealership and buy for the same price as every other car in its market segment "rare"...

I consider a car to be rare when you dont see it every day.
