Autobulb Depot

Where did it go. I just realized this morning that one of my PIAA's is dead. Only two years old. Anyway I can't get to the site I bought them at.

Does anybody know if they are outta business?

If so where can I go to get my beloved headlights...?

Jeff,
Try this place, they're cheaper than Autobulb Depot and they ship free.

Well....as you are well aware life is far from static. This year it was actually work and somewhat family.

I know work is a lame excuse, but this time it's different. My job really does depend on me staying here and working. I don't want to leave this place and right now I'm at a sort of pinnicle of my design life..so I'm here. Having a blast designing my heart out hoping for that ONE big hit.

That and we seem to be having colds none stop and with the 5 and 2 year olds it kinda wears on ya.

Thanks for the info!

I'll be sure to make the NE meet this May 10th ....if your up for the drive.

What exactly do you design? I'm looking into industrial design again... right now I'm in the 3d animation program.

Hey I just was at my local audio store and they had those headlight...went to another audio store farther away and they had them there too....check your local audio shop and maybe save some shipping and cost if they beat comp. prices....good luck

Thanks all

That's right I'll have to check Circuit City, for some reason I thought they carried them.

Otherwise it's actually for me to mail order them seeing as I spend so much time sittin' in front of this tube.

I design electronic RF modules for wireless LAN systems. I'm currently working on a new RF front-end for a 5GHz transceiver designed for the IEEE 802.11a standard.

My favorite part is the actual layout of the circuitry. It's actually a form of art and one of the few truly creative things I get to do.

...well he asked..

9006s right?

Just double checking but I have 9006s in there right?

Will the PIAA's require an upgraded harness?

jscorse 04-22-2003 07:36 AM

NO

no...I've been running them for years.

You may also want to check out products from Cibie and the higher end Osram/Sylvania stuff... both of which are as bright as the PIAAs and last longer. I've had good luck with the better Hella bulbs as well.

PIAA's competition lighting systems are great but their consumer stuff has declined significantly in quality over the past several years.

I've been running the Sylvania "Cool Blues" since I bought my first SVX. I didnt' really see a significant difference until I started driving the Evil Twin. I'm running stocks in the "ET" and there is a BIG difference. As soon as practical, though, I'm going to change the ET over to Sylvania Silver Stars upon "Nubs'" recommendation.

Jeff,
9006 is your low beam, 9005 is your high beam.

..soooo

Randy,
You'd recommend the Sylvania Silver Stars over the Extreme White PIAA's ? I know you probably don't have much of a comparison though.... ??

I may have to put my stocks back in till I can decide what exactly to buy.

I have been using the Sylvania Silver Stars for some time now and like them very much. I would recommend them. :)

I just can't bear paying the price for the PIAA's. Interestingly, I found this while doing a search for the Silver Stars:

I'm not familiar with "Narva" lamps, but, they seem to be a more practical choice. I'll have to do some more checking on them. If they come in an H3 and are less expensive than PIAA, they'd be perfect substitute for PIAA Lithium Ion H3 bulbs.

Chicane 04-22-2003 02:19 PM

What's wrong with the cool blues? I have them, I think they're great. :)
