Looking for best tire size for 17 inch wheels

I am unfamiliar with tire size ratios and have a set of 17" wheels I want to install onto my SVX but I am unsure as to what the best tire size would be to use for the SVX. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

what is the rim width?

The closest to the stock size would be 225/45/17.

I will have to check into the width of the rims. Just curious as to the best size that'll work with the SVX and give good performance. Thanks in advance for all replies.

The SVX likes a wider than stock tire -- as long as the rims are 7.5-8.0 inches wide with between 55 and 48 mm of positive offset, you should be able to run 245/45 tires. Sticking with 225/45 would be extremely safe.

The 245/45-17 would be wider and taller than stock.

245/40-17 would be a lot closer to the stock height.
