Brake Caliper colors

When I replaced all 4 calipers, I opted for the yellow caliper paint to kinda go with the Porsche Carerra GT scheme.

They look pretty decent behind the stock rims, but now I"m going with the larger Nissan Murano 18's so the brakes will show more. Now I think I'm going to regret painting it yellow because it might end up looking tacky instead of clean and tasteful, which is why I'm thinking of repainting them a different color.

I was either thinking red, silver or copper (similar to the brembos on a 350z/g35)

What do you guys think?

I am going to do mine Red, with white heat resistant SUBARU decal on them.

I believe Red is the only color for calipers... no matter what color your car is...

I have yellow on a pearl and red on my lagunq blue. Both look ok, but if I was going to do it again, I would go with red or silver. Copper would look ok too. :)

Personally, I loved the painted red calipers on my former brilliant red SVX:

The Sticker came from Ebay. I just did a search. THe stickers have been on for about a year now and look great still.

I just bought some red calipers from TriNet Motorsports ($520 - $200 core = $320) along with some drill/slotted 'Spurt' rotors ($170). I figured it was cheapest way I could paint/rebuild my calipers and not have worry if I rebuilt them properly (as I am not confident in my mechanical skills yet). I'm waiting for them to arrive but will post pics when they do. With my Barcelona red, I couldn't see myself going with any other color besides red. :)

Copper calipers might clash with the Silver color scheme of your car and rotors - but will stand out like the red. Silver calipers might blend in too much unless you want a low profile look (in which case, black would do that nicely too).

I would also like to know where gest24 got that nice subaru logo on his calipers! :D

black or silver. There's no need to draw extra attention to your calipers unless they are aftermarket upgrades...but the subtle color will sure look great to anyone that looks

My svx is black mica, so I painted mine red a few years back. They still look okay, but after a few years and lots of heat they could be doing a bit better. I think I might go 'gold' or 'copper' next time.

Mine are red. Not by choice, but the previous owner evidentally liked red.

When I put new rotors in, I'm thinking of redoing them all black.

I think black gets my vote. I saw a Porsche which had black calipers with red pinstripe lines around the edges and the Porsche name in raised lettering. Looked super sharp, but would really only work with those big calipers with pistons on both sides.

Red!

Red all the way - 2006 Chevy Corvette Victory Red powdercoat to be exact. If you polish out the rough casting marks with a 4" hand grinder with a flapper wheel before you coat/paint, they'll be smooth, shiny, and collect no brake dust staying clean longer.

Oooohhhh, spiffy. How much was it to powdercoat all 4? If you don't mind me asking. I'm tossing around painting or powdercoating and can't really decide. Other than cleaning, what prep work is involved for powdercoating?

Yellow IMO should be reserved for black, or yellow cars. In the case of black it needs to match any other yellow on the car, and for yellow cars it needs to match the primary color.

On Silver it *might* work, but I'd be more inclined to see if there was a cheaper source for the brembo gold color than brembo since it costs the same to buy a new brembo caliper as it does to repaint one using thier paint.
