Curious Q about O2 sensors

I was wondering, i have a customized exhaust system and since i did it i removed completely my damaged O2 sensors, now i am asking, i was thinking of customizing and installing again O2 sensors in my car, so can i put any O2 sensors? or they have to be exclusively for SVX?

O2 sensors are very universal *as far as I'm aware* threads may ary between the makes and models otherwise you either have 2-3-or4 wires for various set-ups also you have a small market with wideband versions for those that want exact numbers for say turbo tuning. Hope that helped.

Thank you Thundering, so that means i can wire BMW sensors in my SVX?

Depends. On the SVX the o2s are a 3 wire system. Any 3 wire o2 sensor will work, however i'm not sure what BMW o2 sensors are. If you are eventually going to be getting forced induction, or any heavy performance modifications, I'd suggest going with a wideband o2 that has an option of also sending a narrowband signal.

Zeitronix offers a kit like this, and is the product I will be running on my track eclipse.

Aha, now things are getting clearer, thanks. I will visit Zeitronix now... ;) :D

As someone said earlier, any 3 wire O2 sensor with the proper threading will work. I just did this a few months back and everything is happy. Just pay close attention to the splicing of the OEM connector pigtails to your sensor pigtails. I soldered then shrink wrapped everything.

Good luck.
