A) Perhaps a member here has one they can sell you.

B) Try e-mailing, or PMing SVXpert.

C) Go to www.1stsubaruparts.com or www.subaruparts.com and order a new one.

Make sure, if you order from the parts stores, that they are the ORIGINAL, with the SVX logo. Some are beginning to sell chincy generics.

The local Subaru dealer here wants about $70 for a factory original.

1stsubaruparts charges about 44.00 plus 10% shipping. So, for less than 50 bucks, you can get an OE from them.

You bet! That's why I'm avoiding the dealer and buying from 1St Subaru. Example: 2 each inner and outer seals, and 2 rear wheelbearings, $120.00. About 40% cheaper than the dealer's quote.

remote

I couldn't even get a svx in the choose model at www.1stsubaruparts.com
and back order at www.subaruparts.com till forever. So any other suggestions are the after market alarms all incompatible with the svx---any experience on that issue out there.
Thanks for all the help so far!!!!

No, aftermarkets aren't incompatible. I know that Chris Ponzini has a nice system on "Precious." Also, I believe Kuoh has one on his. You might PM them for their thoughts.

1stsubaruparts used to have the remote (without photo) on their SVX accessories page. The fact that they've removed it, does not bode well for the future of acquiring OE remotes. That bums me out.

I got one from 1stsubaruparts.com around sept 7th. Whew!

One of the mistakes I make, when trying to program my remote, is to sit there with the door open. DUH! It ain't going into program mode of your leg's hanging out the door. Make sure all doors and the trunk are closed securely. Also, make sure you're beginning with the security button in the OFF (no light) position.
