Undercarriage Cleaning?

Hey SvX enthusiasts, what's the best tool and way to clean the undercarriage and those hard to reach places around the engine bay? Products, tools, techniques are all welcome. How often do you recommend doing it, let alone washing and waxing the car? I need some advice, thanks.:D

Drive it through 12" of slushy snow!

I usually go to the carwash and jack up one carner of the car at a time. Get underneath and spray it down with Engine brite. After that drive into a wash bay, repeat the first part and use the foaming scrubber then rinse. Bring a change of clothing cuz your gonna get soaked! As for the engine, do NOT use a wheel cleaner for uncoated aluminum wheels. Simple green will do just fine. Hope this helps.

Pop the door panel off and bring it inside and let it air dry NEAR a radiator.

I'm having trouble with that upside down T shape piece of plastic under the inside door handle. Is this suppose to come off? If so, how? I tried a guitar pick and that didn't work prying it.

What did you use to get it out?

I've carefully used a flat screwdriver.
