2008 Legacy!!

The 2008 Legacy has arrived and with more excitement this year by including the H6 3.0L engine into Legacy line and with flappy pedal shift assist gearbox and refined rear end design while the front end looks the same. The interior got some better looks now and some ricey upscale touch (in my opinion).

Not much mechanical/technical upgrades to outback model though.

Here are some pics*

Mmmmmm..nice. Very busy steering wheel.

I think I'd prefer it if the front looked a bit slimmer, the lights/grill/slots all look a little too bulky for a Legacy to me.

I like it, 'cept for the wheels.

I would buy this car.

I personally think it's hot

They should have done a little more design engineering on the front end and they did a gr8 job on refining the rear. Other than that everything looks gr8 and now the legacy lovers can get the taste of H6 also :) . -Pavan

U mean the H6 engine?.... if thts wht u meant, then its around the corner. Since Subaru started introducing H6 into rest of the models, they may start tuning thru STi. If that happens, then it would be awesome. -Pavan

I'm holding out for the 2.0l Boxer Diesel.

pavanbabut 01-27-2007 04:36 PM

Relatively bad news....

No more outback sedans (which I like as they some wht lok more than a mid size sedan and distinctive appearance compared to legacy sedans) and no more legacy wagons... :(

From Joe Spitz site...

"1/9/2007 While specifics haven't been announced, it seems that for 2008 model there will be a Legacy sedan and Outback wagon, and Legacy wagons and Outback sedans will be dropped from the line."

Yes that sounds very interesting, turbos under the block, one on each manifold. The sound of the turbos might drown out the Diesel knock.:)

Harvey.;)

I think next year sometime I'm going to be in the market for a new Subie. The Legacy GT 3.0R will be my car of choice. But if the Diesel does make it to the states and is CA legal... Black smoke and tourque at the 2009 SD Area AutoXs ;-)

Good Lord, it's what happens when you cross an Accord with a SAAB!

Looks like my next car won't be a Subaru if they can't offer a sport wagon. Only an idiot would pay more for a car that gets worse gas mileage, handles worse, brakes in a longer distance and cost more. Oh well, Subaru hasn't a build quality worth buyinig for 10 years anyways.

NikFu S. 01-29-2007 07:11 PM

If you want a sporty wagon get an Impreza?

I think they are just preparing to broaden their lineup. Maybe they don't have enough factories to just keep adding more diverse models so we have to lose a couple less important ones.
