Speedy S-bend

Hi Gang,

I just broke my speed record thru my favorite S-bend. I entered at 79 mph and exited at 111 mph. Oh what fun to start the day the "SVX Way". This is better than the real breafast of champions (Wheaties & Gin). It's exhilarating. I'm typing this at work. There is a big , stupid grin on my face right now. :p

At lunch time I better go to the parking lot to see how the stuff in the trunk fared. There was a lot of tumbling noise from the trunk when I accelerated thru the left hand bend.

I love this car.

Larry III
PS: All speeds were read off the speedo, so I don't know how accurate it is.

ok you are crazier than me.

was there traffic?

there is a "s" bend right near my house. there is a sign posted that says 30mph. i usually come in doing about 50 and exit at 60-65.

this "s" you are talking about must be big and sweeping. the one by my house is really tight and dives down and then up a hill.

sounds awesome, you can not beat the g-forces you feel when the car is really being pushed. i love adrenaline.

Alas, I was restricted from any sudden acceleration, stopping or turning this morning by the 'milestone cakes' in my trunk. I didn't want all my wife's hard work mashed by the heavy tripods I have in there as well. :)

...and is Rosie aware that you're manuvering your body about strange curves, in an ever increasing, pulsating, effort to "finish" faster.
Oh, you kids today!
Ron.

if you guys are around and if there are no cops around and if the road is clear, I'll take you up on my fav. s band on Lake Shore Drive. For those of you who knows chicago, it's the one right by oak street beach on LSD. The limit on it says 25 but I have never gone in slower than 50 on that and the best was when I went in at 80+ (had to look at the road) with a undercover police crusier racing beside me.

Eventually he did pull me over and gave me a warning though.

To All,

The posted speed limit for this bend is 35 mph. It is a wide 2 lane ramp that tapes to one wide lane at the first bend. It is the ramp from Rte. 202S onto Rte. I-95S. It goes downhill since rte. 202 crosses over Rte. I-95. At approx. 6:15 in the morning there is usually no traffic.

With the seasonal change and the cooler air, the performance of my SVX is getting better. Theres's nothing like cold, damp, dense air for a performance boost. We have to be become more environmentally aware and stop all this "Earth Warming". We need to promote earth cooling for better performance.

Did I mention that we have the perfect car for the next ice age? He-He

To Ron,

When I was young I used to rally and ice race my SAAB. I also worked in the pits for a friend of mine who had an Alfa. Sometimes I even drove it in SCCA competition (Bridgehampton).
I have slowed down a lot since those days. To quote a famous Brit, "Sir Monty of Python": "I may not be as good as I once was; but I'm as good, once, as I ever was!!!"

or

Rosie has that big, dumb grin on her face most days of the week.

Looks like we're back to that middle-aged lament, "It takes all night to do, what I used to do all night long.
Of course, this doesn't effect me personally, as I'm past the point of remembering just what it was that I did all night long.
Dumb but also grinning, Ron.
