The constant talk and questions about how many svx's are on the road still and how many have gone beyond has made me decide to attempt researching the number of SVX's that are around from each year with what colors and interior packages. Obsessive? No i think not.

So far i have been watching ebay (and other sites) and charting each car that has been listed. I have quite a few listed but i've decided that the ones for sale can only tell me which ones have not found permanent homes. There are a lot of them that are not very likely to be sold *cough* earl *cough*. Not to mention the one that have been parted out. :( They're going to be very hard to count and find the vins for.

So from you guys it would be very helpful if you could post for me (or send a private mail if you don't want it made public) your car's year, vin, color, interior, color, interior type, if its automatic still, and if it runs.

And anyone who knows of one that's been parted out or totaled any info that can be added would be nice. Preferably with a vin but if that is inaccessible i'll take what i can get!

Make sure you clean out your PM's on a regular basis, you have a limit of 200.

Which ever way you feel most comfortable. Some ppl dont like to let out all there cars info. Dont ask me why but some ppl are nuts!

I've already started a project like this. I'm building up a registry including much information about every SVX out there. All we need is to get everyone to fill it out.

That's pretty much everything I'm looking for too. Sorry for stealing your idea! I also added AWD or FWD and if the tranny has been swapped to a manual (just curious how many people have done it)

We should join forces. I can customize that form to include all the information you want.

Thats a good idea. What are you using to store the info? I have mine stuff setup on Microsoft access.

I'm keeping track of year, color, VIN, interior style and color, AWD or FWD, Automatic or Manual, Location on planet earth (country), and if it is currently running. I considered keeping track of owners names or s/n but i didnt know how well that would work with nonmembers and those that are gone. I didnt add a column for mods as i dont see how it affects the number there are and what types there are but it would be interesting to see how many people have done something to there car. (not that i have. i still haven't fixed the exhaust rattle! :o )

I don't know if this would be of any help, but here is the listing I created a few years ago (2002-ish) around when I bought my '92. Anyway, I placed the Excel file in my locker ( http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?Kurt_W ). At the time I stoped following them, I had ~168 SVXs listed. Feel free to use it however you find useful. It's kind of out of date but it might be interesting for cross reference.

Here's the long but fairly accurate way.

find the start and end VIN's for each year, and run 14,000 carfaxes. :eek:

If 5 people open up accounts, that's less than 3000 a piece, or 100 a day for the 30 days of the carfax account.
