Engine Leaks & Exhaust

OK I am lacking the terms i need to find these parts so maybe someone can help me out

(Looking toward the front of the car & up at the engine underside...) To the left and right are gaskets & metal covers (these are leaking oil) I am trying to figure out how much labor that is going to be to fix and where to locate the gaskets?

Also, I am trying to figure out which cat-back exhaust system works best with these cars & which one I should use if I plan on turboing the engine.

Thanks guys

Looks like you're asking two questions, let's see if I've guessed right...

1. You're probably looking at leaking rocker cover gaskets, as the exhaust manifolds won't leak oil. This is also probably the case if you're seeing oil on both sides. They can be replaced - you'll have to remove the coil packs and spark plugs. I believe TOMSSVX hold the current record for removal and replacement...

2. If you're going to go with a turbo, you're better off just waiting until you're ready to start the turbo install to start worrying about the exhaust system. The exhaust system will be of a larger diameter than what you'll want to run on a na engine. Check out PhastSVX's thread on his turbo install, it will give you a good head start on what to expect re: the exhaust system.
If you'll looking to just upgrade your stock system in the mean time, you might want to look at replacing your secondary cat with a 2in/one out Magnaflow high flow cat - at least 2.5 " dia inlets and outlet with a 2.5 or 3.0 pipe going back to the stock muffler. Honestly, I'd just leave the stock system alone and copy whatever Phil figures out works best with his system:D

I don't remember removing the spark plugs to do those seals, but maybe i did... There should be two other gaskets on each side that go around the plugs on the covers.

oh yeah, that was when I changed my plugs. You should probably do that too while you're at it.
