To top off a perfect day...

As some of you know, I got married on Sunday to my long suffering Cassie!

Perfect day, perfect weather (we were really worried) and as we cruised around the harbour, Blake (another SVX'er) came up and said "I think this makes it all complete, look over there".

I don't know how he spotted it but about 800m away on the Foxtel wharf, what was parked but a white/black SVX - too far away to see the rego and I fear divorce would have resulted had I requested the boat to turn around (which I could have, but I value my life - I actually thought about it!!)

Anyways, anyone on here who owned that car?

Cheers

James

James,

Congratulations to you & Cassie.

pylon500 06-01-2004 07:54 AM

Sorry, don't know which one it was, but if we had networked this a little better, we probably could have had half a dozen SVX's parked along your cruise or at least a guard of honour somewhere! :D
'A year or so in Europe and England!, that's a long honeymoon. ;)
Congratulations, and you will be missed, get online soon.
Arthur.

Thanks for that - we hope to over to the US in December so who knows, we may be able to finally put faces to names!

Cheers

James

Hey Dude, on your second wedding night, what are you doing online at this hour!? :D
Arthur.

*feeling very sorry for self*

Wow - it seems that for some reason, SVXs follow you around!

:D

That SVX may have been the one that I saw a few months ago on Victoria Road - it was definitely white/black, and I think I sent you the rego number!

Anyway - putting SVXs to one side for a (brief:D) moment................

........Congratulations !

:) :)

Jason.

Good call!

Clever James!!!!!.........

You remind me of a Top Gun movie I think it was, Admiral Lloyd Bridges ordering the aircraft carrier to turn around and go back, his cap had blown off.   :D

More importantly, to Cassie and James, can I offer my best

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I wish you both the very best of happiness and good fortune for your future together.

Let me know when you are coming this way, I am looking forward to meeting you both. Assure Cassie that I am not a svx maniac. We will keep car conversation to the minimum and act like real people.;) :)

The best of good wishes from Up Over.

Joe:) :)

Can you send me a jpeg??:)

Not long now till Eire!

Hi there

Thanks heaps for the post and your congratulations (love the big font)

I was laughing when I read about the Lloyd Bridges - I think it was Hot Shots with Martin Sheen - as I recall, Bridges trips on what he alleges were crabs "2 of them, they work in pairs"

:p

Some pics are here:

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/jamsvx

Pretty easy to guess who I am!!

Cannot wait to meet up - hopefully will be able to stop in Kildare on the way down to Portlaoise (all very secret though - Cassie is convinced that this trip with mention of Ireland, England, France, Norway, Sweden etc all corresponds with SVX'ers in said locations....*adopts angelic smile*...moi????)

;)

We'll be there for months anyways so definitely will do it

My alternate emails will be, after 19 June, jamx6@hotmail.com and jamsvx@yahoo.com (preferred)

Lastly, I stepped into a minefield when my wife (so strange to say that!!) overheard me talking about this:

Make: Subaru Model: SVX 3.2 Coupe Engine: 3.2 Petrol Transmission: Automatic Price: €6,950 Year: 1994 Colour: Black Mileage: 105,000 Owners: 0 Location: Deerpark Motor Company
Deerpark Road, Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin
Tel: 01 283 2040
Email: info@deerparkmotors.com Comments: a/c alloys Black leather. Full SUBARU service history. Electric seats. Climate control. Stock: This Subaru SVX was confirmed to be in stock yesterday

Talk of "it would be a great car to tour Europe in" were met with a glare that, I am convinced, was accompanied by thunder, lightning, dark boiling clouds and the wails of innocents - I could be mistaken for that 'Omen' type occurance.

Cheers

James

Sly old dog, you Hot Shot

Yep, I'd say you are right, Hot Shots it would be, a parody on the Top Guns and Rambos of the universe.:)

Thanks for the links to the pics, lovely occasion, lovely weather, you planned it well.

Here you've been describing Cassie to us for years in the She Who Must Be Obeyed mode, and totally forgot to mention how pretty she is!! You lucky dude.;) :D :D

That black SVX is there a year now. They recently dropped the price by a grand. Might be hard to keep a black car clean with all the farming muck we get on the roads here. Looks OK though. With petrol passing a Euro a litre, Cassie might be right to give you the thunderous look. :p If you are really going touring, you need to get a good turbodiesel in the family first.

I agree though, I was tempted to go look at it myself, and would if I wasn't broke.

You know my email, so let me know in advance when you are coming. Or call me when you arrive, and give me a mobile number so we can set something up. I will PM you my mobile number.

Cheers

Joe:)

My congratulations to you both. May you have a SVXy life together for a long, long time.

Ron (wow, another excuse to have a drink)!

Congradulations James & Cassie- the pics look perfect & i love weddings (hurry up Chris!)
Were you in the svx when you proposed? I wish you guys all the best for your extended honeymoon and life :)

Moshol

ps. i'm sure we would have all been more than happy to provide svx wedding transport for your guests- though i guess you wanted them to arrive in one piece and without adrenaline/heart issues ;)

Jamsvx 06-04-2004 04:13 AM

Thanks guys!:D

In my immature days, I had thought of the perfect ceremony - car related of course.

Picture this - two Ferrari 355 Spiders driving side by side....bride in one, groom in the other....celebrant balance on the rear decks, one foot on each car.

Cars are driving along at say 30kph

Shouts to groom: DO YOU!
'Two beeps'
Shouts to bride: DO YOU!
'Two beeps'
Shouts in general: YOU'RE MARRIED!

At that point, both bride and groom drop it from 4th into 2nd, revs climb to 8000rpm and wheels start spinning as they catapult towards the horizon, that banshee wail howling as the celebrant rolls himself into a ball as he is thrown off the deck and rolls along the freeway

]Yeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa

We were being very silly when we thought of this - Cassie refused to listen past line 2
