My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
I know this a little bit off topic, but I figured someone would like to see it. It is my VG30DETT out of my '90 300ZX Twin Turbo. Just had it built at Import Parts Pro and should easily sustain 1,000 HP. It has :

Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
Someone bent your block!
Its in some weird "V" type shape!  Just kidding. I know some people have this weird fascination with "non-boxer" motors for some reason. ;) Good luck with it and I hope you put down the numbers you're looking for! Dustin |
Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
Haha. I actually love boxer engines. I used to race Subarus back in the day. :)

Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
I want that motor for my S30Z. Great work. Now go teach Supras a lesson.

Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
This is one of the best engines ever... I wish the new 350Z engines were closed decks :(

Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
Import Parts Pro does 350Z engines as well.

And do you care to shed some light on: "Crank knife edged Crank center weight tig welded into place" Curious about the pros of these mods... |
Re: My built VG30DETT 300ZX engine is completed!
300zx's are up there with my favorite 2 door coupes. Make us proud and unleash that monster engine you got!

The Tig welded weight is, in my best guess, a precautionary measure so that the weight does not back out. The weight they add is to balance the crank at high speeds. My particular engine will have a redline of 9,000 RPM. Here is a link to a specific package that he offers for the 350Z engine. Notice the 1200 WHP capability on it. http://www.importpartspro.com/st4vqloblni2.html |

I know I am pushing with this, but might you have some pics about the tig welded weight? Because I cannot notice it in the pics you posted
