Time to gloat...a little

After a month of ownership, I have finally gotten around to getting our "new" Emerald Pearl '95 L AWD cleaned, polished and waxed, wheels mounted, oil changed, headlight covers installed, etc, etc.

I spent most of the last two weekends cleaning her and making her shine again. Not sure what Baltimore uses for water  or if the acid rain is just terrible, but the finish on the hood and roof was a MESS! No pics, but I Clayed her and then started with Griot's Machine Polish #2 and my orbital buffer and the etching just laughed at me  . Went to the local paint suppy place and picked up Meguiar's Medium Cut, Light Cut, and Swirl Remover and went to town. Medium Cut to Light Cut to Swirl Remover to Griot's Machine #2 to Machine #1 to Best of Show Wax <Napolean> GOSH! </Napolean> Vacuumed, cleaned the windows, cleaned the engine bay, Rain-X'd the windshield, polished the tips and removed the black paint, polished the taillights, treated the tires. Still have fluids in the trans and diffs to change and a trans cooler to install, but she is good to go for now.

So, without further ado (OK, further incoherent rambling on my part  ), I present to you what is one of the lowest mileage SVX's on the Network :D

Woo! I see it still has the signature window scratches. Looks great! Wanna do mine next? :D

That can't be your car, there's flowers and green stuff still growing in the background. Mid-October in MI is supposed to be brown and barren. That is, unless you and the Missus had a dome installed over your plantation...

(that would explain the delay of the 5spd conversion)

WOW, talk about sv-excess! :D I can only imagine how it looks. Nice wheels, too

BTW, I talked to fine-lady tonite and told her to get on the board. Besides our legendary acid rain, one of the water problems was, although she washed it often, she was on well water. They have a water conditioner to neutralize the pH, but it isn't plumbed to the outside faucets.

Now she wants me to give her a crash course on maintaining her Maxima to that same level.

By the way, you have my permission to change your title to the Pristine Green Emerald Machine

Exactly what are the "headlight covers" you have installed? They don't look to be the same as the snap-on shields that I have.

That car is awesome.

Did you mention your $150 p/hr consulting fee?

Ron.

Thanks David but NO :)

Carl, yeah we have about 2 weeks left of slightly green, turning brown before we go to "Got Gray?" for the next 6 months :( Oh and :p to you too!

Thanks John. Car looks good but is not complete. I just wanted to get her clean and sealed up for the upcoming winter. Washer bottle had crusty build-up around the filler neck and NASTY paint devastation around the squirters..I mean clear through the clear coat. No help for those areas :( Let Doris know NOT to fill up her reservoirs with hose water. It was so bad it etched the GLASS! I had to use my medium cutting polish to remove the etching on the glass. The headlight covers are made by Auto Armor and I ordered them from Griots. They are adhesive-backed transparent film for the headlights and side markers. The headlights were in such nice shape I wanted to maintain them for as long as possible.

Manarius, Phil, and Chike- Thanks for the compliments! :D

It's beautiful. :) No interior pics? :D

Things for you to improve: :p

dang, i saw a ding on your passenger front fender?

is there any products you can use to remove your windows scratches? :p damn, i can't believe i got way less windows scratches than yours - my yellow has 142k now, i try not to roll the front windows if possible only open the sunroof until i have times to fix.

take care, nice car, nice wheels, i want your headlights....keep the mileages
low. :p

Thanks Bill :p

Ken-I have counted 8 dings on the car. They will be removed by a fabulous paintless dent repair guy shortly. I ordered new window fuzzies today and the windows are not nearly as bad as they appear in that picture. The car windows were dusty which makes them look much worse. Interior pics and engine pics...everyone's seen an L interior and all of our engines are the same :) These wheels are my favorite aftermarket wheel on the SVX...course I'm a bit prejudiced :D

Todd - That is one nice car. You should be proud of her. :D

Don't let Ron put his Box-O-Wine on the car!!! It will leave marks on the paint!  ;) :) :)
