Transmission Filter Question

So, I need an internal tranny filter for my SVX. I know there is a really good write up on this but the part number listed for the Pro-King trans filter is FK-237, but I can't seem to find that filter anywhere and I know FK-280 will not fit. Advance lists a Beck/Arnley filter #044-0262, does this one fit? I'd rather not find out when I have my pan dropped. Thank you!

Re: Transmission Filter Question

The Beck/Arnley 0440262 fits, IF they put the correct filter in the box!
I have had so many wrong that I check it at the auto parts store before leave.
Lay the filter on the counter with the 1" round tube pointing upward, like it would be in the car, with the tube away from you,
and the (square/rectangular) inlet opening pointed downward and closer to you.
There should be a concave curve on the "top right side", about 3" long,
and 1/4" deep.
As seen from your perspective.
IF on the right it is not curved, it will not fit.

Re: Transmission Filter Question

Thanks Tom. I ordered the Beck/Arnley filter and gonna see if it fits and report my findings, if not I can return it. Would be nice to confirm this part number since it is sold at Advance and not have other members getting the wrong filter XD.

Oh, that is the right part number, but they sometimes put the wrong filter in? I thought you were being sarcastic before XD. You would think they would get that right.

Re: Transmission Filter Question

It would be great if soneone could take a picture of the filter in that position so we could check them at the store. :)

Got a pic of the Beck/Arnley filter. The circled area is the part you spoke of having to be concave and does it look right? I think it does cause it seems to match what you were saying.
