tightened transmission band

My SVX had been slipping out of gear. We remedied that by tightening the band, turning the bolt near the starter. At this point, it no longer slips, but the bolt only had about 1/2 inch to go before it disappeared inside the transmission. How long do I have, you think, until I need to rebuild?

How did you manage to tighten it? I tried to adjust mine and had no luck getting a wrench on it, but I did manage to tighten it like 1/4 turn, but I had to drop the exhaust and lower the transmission down to get to it.

Try using those stubby wrenches.

Stubby wrenchs are mini sized for small areas. And left is loose, right is tight.
