YES..!! I did it.. I bought a SILVER SVX

Hi All,

I can't say how much it made me happy today.:D :D About 2 weeks ago I finally found one, and did test drive following day, negociated the price, requested to hold the car. It was unbelievable. First, the car was like brand new condition (to me). Nice shiny paint..with few scuffs and dents. The place was just like 3 miles away from my place. It was a Japanese dealer. (around my place there are some J-towns) Sevice was great, they were so polite, and friendly. Of course I used my Japanese connection...:) But most of all, the car was in great shape!! Can't believe this is 15 yrs old baby.

Ah I don't know how long I've been looking for Liquid Silver SVX in my life..since I was a kid?? Everytime I found it(not so often though) it wasn't really good condition, or not really close by.. But recently I saw some signs. I saw silver SVX. My parents saw it twice in Japan as well. I saw silver SVX in recent magazine. They were all silver...

They told me the pre-owner was a lady, I don't know how that makes differnce but everything looks neat! In fact I found a Japanese "hello kitty" thing under the pass. seat. Yes, the under seat tray is there. I don't see any missing parts so far. It actually came with the video tape, 2 remote keys, and 2 extra spare keys.. I'm getting confused by the # of keys already since I still have my '96. Alright, I've been writing too much, so I'll stop. it's hard to stop telling you guys how I feel though.:D
Today I picked up the car after work so I don't have nice photos now. But they wanted to take a photo as for memories, so here it is...

This is my 3rd SVX and I'm now the owner of 2 SVXs.. 1 step closer to Earl. Also 1 step closer to be broke..:D

Looks like a clean SVX. I'm guessing and would bet money that it has only one previous owner.

Congradulaitons!

Geez I still don't have time to take it to nice photoshooting! And sky is gray these days. Yes even in LA sky is gray this time around. I took bunch of photos tonight at my garage, but 98% of them came out not so good...
Just one shot from tonight! Can you see how shiny it is??:D

Congratulation. It looks great and the headlights are nice and clear. Silver is not as comon as other colors are. I am very happy for you and understand how excited you are. :) :)

Today I woke up like 2hours earlier than usual since I couldn't wait til I drive it again. I got to work too early.. Man, this '92 SVX is definitely smoother and punchier than my '96. I remember there's thread about comparison between early models and later models. Are there any mechanical differences??

Feels lighter since I feel more toruque. I was thinking whole time "ah maybe this is how it feels like to own brand new SVX" 92 and 96, they are still SVXs, but they are so different in a way. I don't know how to explain it well.

I'd cherish my '92. Keep it clean and nice.

Thanks Earl!

Isn't the silver/black 2 tone nice?? :) In the future, thinking about doing JDM 3 tones. But the condition of the bumpers are so great now and I don't wanna touch them yet!

I was looking for the word to describe how the car runs... maybe "silky" is the right choice. Very smooth, quiet. I don't know how long it will last that smoothness, but I'd never drive this baby hard.

Actually the left side headlight need to be polished bit. Can't wait til weekend!

If you treat it good, it should stay silky for a long time. :) That would be a good name for it. :D :D

That is so shiny man, it's hard to believe. You owe the previous owner a debt of gratitude for keeping this car so well!!

Congratulations Ryu, that is a truly lovely car.:) I wish you the happiness that I know you will get from owning such a pretty thing.

Here's a picture of my JDM silver:

I have not had the chance to "spruce her up" yet, engine work happening first, but she has potential.

Joe:)
