Replacing Power Steering Pump

Ok I will be getting my power steering pump tomorrow from Green1995SVX and I have a few questions on the install:

First will I have to flush the system somehow, or will putting in new Dex III fluid, driving for a while, and replacing that fluid with a turkey baster be sufficient?...There is a mixture of PS fluid and ATF in there now.

The pulleys have oil on them so what is a good way to get these clean before putting on my new belt...will engine degreaser work

Also how do I determine the correct tension for the belt?

I will also be replacing the O ring so I hope that this fixes my power steering leak once and for all...if not I will have to replace the lines too.

Thanks,
Caleb

I would flush as you described a couple of times. Regular engine degreaser should be just fine to clean the area. :)

There was a post sometime ago about draining the ps system and then problems with getting all the air out after refilling. I do not know if this is a common problem or not and it did not make sense to me. I think the system should be ventable by turning the wheels from side to side and checking the level after each turn. However, I would not want to run alot of air thru the rack or the pump. Oil entrained air does not have good lubrication properties.
