O2 sensors and the EGR
2 quick questions.
1- I have read on here people have cut out their front cats alnong with the front o2 sensors? How can this be done without setting of CEL? 2- My car keeps throwing a #43, which could be the EGR circuit, value and /or seliond. Could this also cause ruff idle and poor performance? the reason I ask is the car worked so well for about a month with this problem, then it really went down hill, no power, ruff idle etc. Its a 94 svx and without this forum I don't think I would of bought it. thanks for sharing. |
The 02 sensors are in the pipe in front of the front cats, not in them. I don't think anyone has removed the 02 sensors.

Right, but I thought I saw a post where someone removed them and just used the third cat and sensor. Also would a bad EGR cause a cherry cat?

Welcome to the site. Where in Canada are you?
You mentioned error code 43. I think you mean 34 correct? |
Thanks. i am in Edmonton. As far as I could tell is was a 43. Tried it three times, #43
|
How do you read a code?
|
On second thought you were right #34. Damn Dyslexia!

All the different codes are also on http://svx-iw.com/ in the codes section.

mine did threw the same code after i started driving it again. i replaced the egr valve and it threw the code again and continued to run badly at idle. i noticed, however, that it would only throw this code after it stalled. i changed my o2 sensors and the problem went away entirely.
hope that helps some. |
thanks for the advice. I hope it works out cause from the first time I drove it I was hooked. Dam what a fun car to drive.
