SVXs near Chicago (specficly Downers Grove area)
 

I am just curious as to how many, if any of the people on the forum live near Chicago around the Downers Grove/Woodridge area...I have seen several around here and wondered if by chance they might be on here too :)

I have seen:
1. a RED SVX with an older Asian gentleman driving it (no honk back)
2. a TEAL SVX pretty much exactly like mine ('92 teal SVX LS)
3. a 2nd TEAL SVX but this one had a spoiler (i think)...i always see this one parked at Dick's Sporting Goods on Butterfield Rd
4. a PURPLE SVX i dont remember much about this one we were driving in opposite directions.
5. my step-dad said he saw a really nice burgundy SVX with gold rims on the highway out here too

and then mine which i see everyday :) cus it is my everyday driver when it isnt in the shop :lol:

so if any of you guys know who i am talking about PLEASE let me know...it would be great to get to know some of you and get advice in person about some of things going on with the car

I'm a little disappointed that there isn't anyone near Chicago on this forum :(
i think i have had this up for about a month now and no one...so sad...

like i said at first i have seen a few around but wasnt sure if any of them were apart of this network...what do you have?? anything i listed?

a claret, but ive seen more of them in the city.. a green one, black one and a white one that i see them every now and then lol

I know of a few in the Chicago area. I can't remember his forum name, but Aaron still has a pearlie. He caught a lot of flack awhile ago because he traded in his nicer pearlie back over a year ago I believe. He hasn't been on too much and honestly, I haven't even heard from him in quite awhile. :(
He's on the south side, around 87th street about 2 miles off I94/55 I believe if my memory serves me well.

You're not the last! Number 1, that red SVX with the "older Asian gentleman" (I'm 42 this year) might have been me. I don't live near Downers Grove, live right on the other side of the border into WI but used to live in Northeastern IL and used to work down in Woodale in the late 90s. If it was me, if I didn't honk, it wasn't intentional. My SVX has the Japanese Rising Sun flag on the back with a black ribbon on it to support the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster. Gonna bring her out of storage this weekend. See you on the roads!

Yoshi: first off that's an awesome name! Second you did look like you were concentrating on something when we passed. I think it was at fairview and 63rd st...I may be wrong lol

It's good to know that there are a couple around still...anyone know of any SVX meets around here?

I don't know of any meets coming up. Last one (and first one) I went to was in around Janesville, WI. about 5+ years ago. It was a great time but there haven't been any since. If you hear of any, let me know love to attend.

One of my friends here at work is going to be going down to Schaumburg sometime for an import meet up at the Hooters in a few weeks. Last time I brought the SVX I had dudes in STIs and WRXes pulling and asking me "what the hell kind of Subie is that?!". Pretty funny. If I get more info, maybe you can come up!

Sounds like it would be fun! But my car isn't exactly in "show" condintion lol its a little rough especially since its my daily driver too

i have a 94 blue that is being fixed and a Silver 92 that I drive that my woman smashed up a bit and needs some work now. Ugh...
