Here is the solution I use to hold up my visors:
Acme smart shopper card. Just jam it into the molding. Spin
it out of the way to lower your visor.

Any floppy laminated card (like an old fatigued Blockbuster card) will do. Business cards are too soft. Credit cards too hard.

Some members here (like me) are challenged, so a picture would be nice to see so that we have the proper operating procedure. :D
