Butt sag
I've noticed, when visiting my SVX and running the engine briefly every four weeks, that the right rear corner is sagging about a half-inch lower than the left rear.
Is this likely just a worn strut, or a bad strut mount? I suppose the consensus will be that I'm just going to have to take it apart and look for myself... |
That happens to all of us as we get older. :(

That hapend to the left rear side of my car.
Almost 3/4" lower on that side. I replaced the strut mount with a used one. I still have a used one for the right side if you would like to buy it from me, it is rust free and from a mid western car (no snow). $20+shipping PM me if you want it. |
A) Yes, I took the bait on the thread title.
B) Yes, it could be either -- more likely the mount. C) Yes, that's exactly what I was going to tell you, but decided to be nice and give an opinion because of the creative thread title.:p |
Your Strut Mount is Rotted. :)

I have a picture of a bad rear shorter rusted strut mount in my locker. :) The road dust just loves to sit on top of the thing, salt included. :)

The front left tire was really low (10psi) and causing the left rear to sag a little. It's even now that I properly inflated the tires.

I may have the same problem, but need to check, the car has been looking a little saggy in the left butt cheek:p
I'll poke around in the butt end a little later to see what I find.(did I say that out loud?:D ) |
