Today I just bought a 65K red with beige

This car is in such great shape and I'll keep it that way by making it a 2K per year mileage car. I have a black 95 that I can drive everyday.

I am absolutely determined to get a large, custom, rear wing that looks similar to this one:

The tail in the picture looks like a modified Supra wing.

I'm looking at making it more angular.

Anybody else want to consider sharing the cost of something like this ????

anthonybuchanan 11-09-2006 12:46 PM

We could agree on a design and take it to a local fiberglass shop to see what 2,3,4,5...20 would cost.

I'm SOO glad my mom said she wasn't ready to sell her car.

Please PLEASE tell me you're not really going to do that spoiler to that beautiful car. I thought the point of getting a beautiful condition 97 was to keep it beautiful?

www.motorsportwarehouse.com would be your best bet for recockulous wings.

I like the look of these. Thet would follow the lines nicely on an SVX.

But there's only one tier on that thing... Shouldn't there be like, 4 and shouldn't be carbon fibre or aluminum and have stickers and neon underneath it?

anthonybuchanan 11-09-2006 02:48 PM

I know you guys must have seen these pictures before.

I just can't beleive so many object to it though.

When I saw the pictures of the red svx with the wing years ago I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. I guess I'm outside the norm :>)

Does anyone know who the owner of the red svx with the wing is ? I'd like to conatct him.

Get a stock Supra wing and modify it to fit

anthonybuchanan 11-09-2006 03:45 PM

Can't do that.

They are unmistakeably Supra wings and I want something different.

Also, they will require a lot of modifications to fit the SVX.

The wing on this red car is a semi-custom job since he probably started with a supra wing.

What I have in mind will defintely do the SVX community proud.

I say go for it. The only person your car has to please is yourself. People will be hating on you but you will get used to it, I know I have =D.

I remember that the red SVX with the ridiculous wing was a member of this site, or possibly a member of the old Yahoo forum. I don't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure he sold the car years ago.

I also remember that he told his girlfriend that the money spent on the wing was in the name of safety, because that one didn't block the view through the rear windshield.

It was Yahoo, I remember it as well. He had a site that detailed it, and said that it was 4 inches taller than stock, but thats all I remember... perhaps I will dig through my favorites and see if the site still exists.

There are many here who think stock is the way it should stay, there are also many that like to mod the PERFORMANCE of the car. There are few that want to "rice it out". Either way, I have always liked the look of that wing on the SVX.

anthonybuchanan 11-10-2006 09:26 AM

I love tghe look of the stock wing however I can never get the look of the large wing out of my mind. Every SVX I see and even my two SVX's are always imagined with a large wing.

The wing that I envision is angled to follow the angle of the cockpit when being viewed from behind.

It also will be almost the exact height of the one in the picture.

It will be more angular than the rounded on in the picture. The supra is more of a rounded/curvy car than the svx and thus the supra wing is rounded/curvy.

My custom svx wing would be more angled similar to the wing on the audi in this thread.

The coolest thing will be how, from behind, the wind will follow the lines of the cockpit.
