125mph
I ran out of road.
http://home.engr.utexas.edu/solisr/Stuff/120.mov Heheh. 80mph in a 25 zone. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - Rob |
man goin 80 in a 25 is sooo cool rob
i hope my kids are as cool as you when they grow up and why does your car accelerate so slowly? |
??? I think it's pretty fast on the highway.
- Rob |
i'm just wondering why your car accelerates so slow at high speed
maybe it saw the 25mph zone ahead |
Well, it was CRUISING at 90mph.... so it wasn't accelerating..... and then at a steady 90mph, I hit it.
If I had been going from 50 it'd have been accelerating faster. - Rob |

haven't you posted about your street races? Hypocracy what a wonderful thing :p |
Wow, why all the tension here? There have been top-speed threads in the past with no harsh words. The only difference is that someone has a video of them doing these high speeds.
I dont see why it gets so heated when a "controversial" member posts his addition to the top-speed discussions. I've seen Lwin say that he's been over 130, I personally have hit 140, many other members have been atleast 125mph, so why does it only bother you when Rob posts it? Honestly guys, let's cool it down a little, and if you want to say something bad or nasty, just dont post it. Trust me, no one will ever know you wanted to post it! (disclaimer: I am not agreeing or dis-agreeing with either side, and i have no personal problems with any members of this fine community. Just trying to play the mediator (sp?) and stop a train wreck from starting.) |
Any time I've taken my SVX over 100, the speed limit feels so slow afterwards. I used to take really early-morning trips across VT. I'd make most of the trip way over 100mph. After a couple hours at 110+, 80 (still 10mph over) feels like a crawl.
Rob, I have two problems with your video: 1. You seem to be the one holding the camera. You're obviously not on the freeway - going that fast on normal, two-way streets is a risk not worth taking, in my opinion. Adding in the distration of holding a video camera is really dangerous. 2. You need a better mic - I know the SVX is quiet, even at 100+, but I want to hear that engine better. :D |
I'll agree with Scott. This is hardly the first time somebody here has posted about going too fast in an SVX. For crying out loud, I've been over 130 with mine.
Mind you, I didn't do it in a 25mph zone. :D Anyway, if you're going to go too fast in your car, please do it in a place where you're reasonably certain that you aren't risking anybody else. Quote:

The only thing that got me a little was that he did this speed run in a 25 mph zone. That is not the best place to do the high speed thing. Almost anything could happen in a 25 mph zone. I know how this came across to me, and I think that was the point of the past posts.
I can't even come up with a response that I would use when I got pulled over in a 25 mph zone doing 90+. I think I would just get out of the car and wait for him/her to open their door for me. :( |
i have no problem w/ the high speed run my problem IS with the 25mph zone
i've had the car up to 130 on the HIGHWAY, and yes i have street raced, but again not in a residential area w/ 25mph speed limits and my other problem is his bragging abotu goin 80 in the 25 in the thread, that's not cool especially at night i dont' do my runs at night either, not enough visibility for oncoming animals/people if a deer is coming out of the woods just out of your HL beams to the side and you're goin 125 there's no way you could even get slow enough to not total the car from the deer the fact that rob was still goin 80 in the 25 and didn't slow down fast enough for that is proof. |
Doing this in 25mph zone is not a good thing.
Posting that you did this, admitting to it with a video on a public web site >>> Priceless <<<< When the trooper shows up at your home. See ya. |
I dont think the whole run was done in a 25 zone. It just turned into a 25, and the SVX brakes werent good enough to take him down that fast.
Once again, not supporting either side. |
My friend got pulled over for 101 in a 45. Eek!
