Alcyone hood badge

I wanted to change my hood badge but could not figure out how to get the old one off. Can someone please tell me? Do I need to remove the hood latch?

For mine I removed one of the hood latch bolts and loosened the other. Swing the latch out of the way and you'll see a hole in the hood frame underneath. I stuck a screwdriver through and pushed on the tabs of the badge and it popped right off.

Did you need to remove the yelow pieces that are on the new badge? What about those black rubber washers?

I think I don't think I removed anything except the backing of the two sided tape. The yellow things are the push pins that hold it in, the black rings are o-rings that keep water out of the hood. I think. I just pushed my new one into the old holes.

OK Thanks Chris. I will give it a shot.

I should have read your directions a little better because I didn't see that you said to push on the "TABS" and what I did was put the screwdriver though the hole and banged on it thinking that I was acutally hitting the center of the badge when in fact all I was doing was putting a nice dent in my hood till it pushed the badge off:mad:. Oh well, at least the new badge covers it up. I still have a nice ring where the old empblem was. Any idea on how to get rid of it? From afar you can't see it but when you get close to look at the emblem it is very noticable.

It could be either paint fade or the residue... I had both, but I removed the latter using goo gone. :)

Yea. I got rid of the goo but it could be paint fade. I guess I will just have to live with it.
